Callie
I woke up in the morning with a smile on my face. My head was resting on Colt's naked chest and I felt so comfortable which surprised me because it was made of pure muscle. I held my breath and slowly moved my eyes to his face trying not to wake him. He looked peaceful and content.
"Are you going to just stare at me all morning?" He asked making my eyes widen. I watched as his eyes opened, revealing the ocean blue color that I have always loved growing up and still did.
"Hi," I smiled up at him. I knew he could see me blush just as much as I could feel it speared across my cheeks.
"Hi, Gummy bear," he kissed the tip of my nose and smiled down at me. I could feel his fingers on my back rubbing small circles, leaving a hot trail wherever they touched. "I hope you slept as well as I did." I nodded my head. "Good," he settled himself into the pillow and closed his eyes. It was obvious that he was content to just lay with me all day. If only we could. I pushed myself up so that I was leaning on his chest.
"We need to talk, Colt," I told him when he opened his eyes to see where I was going. He looked at me confused. "We should clarify what this meant." Colt nodded and pushed himself up to sit against the headboard. I sat up more pulling the sheets with me to cover my bare chest. Colt moved the hair that fell over my face, behind my ear. I leaned into his hand, but quickly pulled back and held up my pointer finger at him. "Nope, talk first mister."
"Okay," he held his hands up in surrender, chuckling. "What do you want this to mean?" He asked me.
"I-."
"Momma!" We heard Maddy yelling from the front of the house.
"Shit," I jumped out of bed and raced to my dresser to pull on a pair of pajama shorts and a T-shirt. "Get dressed and meet us out there. I don't want her asking questions we don't have answers to," I told him as I walked out the door.
"Momma," Maddy said, stopping in front of me at the end of the hallways with her hands on her hips. "It's time for breakfast." I nodded before looking up at her to find Daisy standing there with raised brows.
"I'll explain later," I mumbled as I passed her following Maddy to the kitchen. I heard my bedroom door open and assumed it was Colt coming out.
"No need," Daisy said, a smirk on her face when she followed me into the kitchen also, Colt entering not long after. I sighed.
"Daddy!" Maddy jumped into his arms. Daisy winked at me and walked out without me getting to say anything. She was not going to let me off that easy though and I knew it. "Can we have waffles today?"
"Of course, Giggles. Whatever you want," Colt smiled at her. "Momma can do the eggs," he winked at me. I nodded and walked to the refrigerator to get the eggs.
Maddy started singing and Colt and I joined in. With all the singing, dancing and goofing off, it took us nearly an hour to get breakfast cooked. We sat and ate while Maddy went through the possible choices for ice cream flavors she may want after the park. I was putting the last dish in the dishwasher when the front door opened.
"Are we ready for the park?" Austin shouted as he made his way to the kitchen.
"Aussie!" Maddy ran down the hallway from her bedroom where Colt and her had gone to change out of her pajamas.
"Mad Bear," he said, scooping her up. "Are you ready for the park?" Maddy nodded her head as Colt walked up to them. They did their bro hug as best they could with Maddy in between them.
"Shoes, Giggles," Colt told her and Austin sat her on the ground so she could do what she was told.
"So, I heard a rumor that you two were seen in Bobby's last night. Know anything about that?" Austin asked, looking from me to Colt with a smirk. I glared at him and slapped his arm. "I'm guessing that is a yes," he looked at Colt this time and winked. "Good job man," they high-fived to which I rolled my eyes, and walked out of the kitchen to get ready and leave the two of them to whatever stupid boy talk they felt was necessary after a date.
