Chapter One:

Alexis's Point of View

I stepped into the squishy sticky snow that now clung to the bottom of my Merrels. I was out in my backyard sitting on the frozen swing set. I was bundled up in my clothes a sweater, NorthFace jacket, and a toasty warm hat.

Snap! A branch snapped behind me and I turned looking for anyone or anything. Nothing. I turn back and pull out my journal where I wrote down my stories and dreams.

I kept writing even thought I was shivering after a while. 'Stupid cold,' I thought to myself as I packed up. Then again a branch snapped somewhere. "Hello?" I was inside before anything could happen.

I stood at the door looking around when I saw an animal I had never seen before. I bolted the doors just for safety safe then took a relaxing bath to calm myself.

I had barely wrapped a bathtowel around myself when I looked outside the door to make sure it was clear.

I opened the door running out into the snowing wonderland until I saw him lying on the ground. I didn't recognize this mysterious boy but I dragged him in as best as possible.

I laid him by the fireplace while I went upstairs to change. I pulled on a pair of Adidas sweatpants and a white V-neck long-sleeve shirt. I almost fell going down the stairs waiting to find out the mystery boy's identity.

I walked in the room to find him sitting closer to than fire than necessary. I broke the silence making sure he heard me come down the stairs, "would you like some water?"

That's when he turned to look at me. I guess I never looked at him, I was only worried about saving their life. His shinning red hair fell to a little above his eyebrows and his strange- yet beautiful brown eyes. He nodded and I wondered of he could speak.

I walked into the kitchen grabbing him a cup of ice water and handed it to him. He drained the glass quickly as I sat on the couch far from him.

Luckily my parents were a convention of some type and I was here alone with Snowball, my small kitty.

I was on the edge of my seat wanting to know everything about this boy when I saw he was bleeding pretty badly. I pressed a kitchen towel to the side of his back trying to make the bleeding slow....
