The Boy From My Backyard: Chapter Eleven

Chapter Eleven:

I rushed over and helped as best as I could with the medical supplies I had left. It was just enough to stop the bleeding and just about save his life. Victoria cried into my sleeve saying "thank you" over and over. I set her down on the couch to rest and laid him down on my bed upstairs. Staring at me from the bed Will smiled, "Thank you so much Alexis."

I squeezed his hand laughing. "You're welcome Will." We just were in quiet for a few moments realizing the worst was yet to happen. Suddenly someone's arms wrapped around me.

"I finally know your name; Alexis. Beautiful". Alex winked. I laughed kissing him and pulled him out of my room. When we were down stairs Violet almost screamed.

"What in Sponge Bob's name where you thinking?!" I rolled my eyes and relaxed on the chair at the kitchen table. She sat down across from me, "I'm serious! You shouldn't go off running like that. We were scared!" She kind of gave me a slight wink giving me a sign we needed to talk about something, alone. Violet and I never got along and she never talked to me; this must be very horribly important.

I pushed Alex off me, "Hey, do you mind grabbing my phone? I left it in my room." He nodded, and left after kissing my cheek sweetly. When he was gone I whispered, "What happened?"

She looked like she was holding something back and said, "Jeremy and Jade were kidnapped." I fell back in my chair. NO! I looked at the clock; a few minutes to eight.

"I have to go."  I pulled my jacket on at the front door not looking over to them.

Violet crossed her arms, "Where are you going?!"

Alex rushed down the stairs and handed me my phone. I placed it in my pocket running out the door. Alex's hand was around my arm before too long, "Why are you always running off? Are you seeing someone else?" I was hurt and a few tears rolled down my face.

"Alex, please. I need to go, now!"  I pulled my arm free still looking at his sad face.

He took a deep breath and grabbed my hand, "Alexis you're the best thing that's ever happened to me and I can't let you go. Every second when we're not together it kills me." His face was hard and he swallowed, "Alexis, if you go, then you're choosing whoever you're seeing over me- over us. And I can't live that way. Now, please Alexis. I need you to stay with me."

I was fully crying now and looked deep into his eyes. Alex.  I turned running now towards the park crying. I was leaving the only person I loved more than I ever loved a person. My tears fell into the snow as I stood at the park awaiting the kidnapper.

I heard some bushes rustling and found Jeremy and Jade making out. EW!  I screamed backing up. They both got up blushing. Something in my brain clicked, wait- if you two aren't kidnapped, what was Violet talking about? I looked back.
