Chapter Eight:

Deeper in I wandered looking for the source of the amazing music. It never seemed to get louder or grow dim so I stopped. The music stopped.

I looked around. "Who's there?" nothing. Just the sound if the snow hitting the ground softly.

I looked around for anything but I couldn't see anything. I looked back to go the way I came but all my tracks were covered up by the snow. I freaked and went the way I thought I came.

Didn't I turn at that tree? Wasn't there supposed to be a rock I saw earlier over here? Should I go left or right?

I was confused beyond belief. I climbed a tree for safety and sat there a while. I climbed to the top looking for my house. I saw smoke! My chimney! I jumped down and took off running.

When I made it over I realized it was the burning of a bonfire from some other high school kids. I wandered over and found the only person I knew. Somehow I had met them on vacation with my family last year at the beach when I found out they had only lived 30 minutes away.

I asked for directions: he drove me. He asked how I was in the woods: I didn't respond. I pulled my black hat over my ears more shivering like crazy.

My body was sick white and beyond freezing. I closed the door thanking him for the ride. I walked along the main road down to our street. Colder and colder I was getting.

Soon enough I couldn't hold myself up. I fell into the fast piling snow around me giving up. That's when I felt a pair of arms around me pulling me up into their arms. I was fast asleep and close to hypothermia.
