I have heard about Wattpad Cliché and honestly I didn't get it. The moment I heard about this I tried to aviod reading Wattpad books for this reason and more. But the more I heard or saw it in a comment in my stories or someone else's, I wanted to find out more about this.

Should I go on? Clearly these are all complaints and clichés everyone are talking about and I guess I'm guilt for a few. I like to think when someone is writing their story, they think of themselves when writing and what I mean is that this person is plain and not popular and only wishes for someone to see her/him or the other way around.
I know that some of us are tired of the obvious once like, Good Girl & Bad Boy, Blond girls as villains/bimbos, P.O.V Problems, Titles, etc.
But if you think about it, its not far off. If we are being real for a moment, I'm as plain as they come. Brown hair with Brown eye's with a little green, I never ware makeup, I'm a big girl with a big chest and no butt (some say other wise) and I'm only 5ft 1/2in so everyone is tall in my eyes. I say some stupid stuff but I can be completely funny when I'm not trying to be and I'm a clumsy person (But I like to think I'm not that bad since my youngest sister stubs her toes on anything at least twice a day on a daily bases, just like my dad or falls, but she is not as bad as my friends niece who scarys me half to death most of the time.)
So I pretty much fit the description of the girls you read all the time but I'm not skinny. And who doesn't what a bad boy ladies. I have dated a few but never been in an abusive relationship unless we are talking about friendships ( I had a few).
A lot of writers mirror what we see, and what we gone through, or just what we want in a way. So what makes a Wattpad Cliché, none of it. I have read many book in my years. Mostly the Romance kind which is the only type I'll be talking about. But outside of Wattpad you see this a lot. I mean a lot in books aiming towards teenager/young adults have these cliche stereotype stories. You also see it in Romance novels that aim for adults from ages 21 and up but the characters are more realistic and sometime if not most have a badass female character or a character that has gone through some stuff.
But like all stories aimed for different ages, they have their own clichés. for the Adult Romances you have the CEO, Billionaire, Famous, Bad Boys, whatever kind of boys. Than there are the girls that are strong, independent, smart, poor, and plain.
I have to admit some cliché never get out of style. LOL.
These Clichés will never go away. They are there and they will always be there. There are millions of books out there and there are times when the plots are the same so sometimes your reading the same book over again but of a different retelling.
If you ever watched a Korean Drama or Dramas in general, you will know that there are times where your watching the same drama but a different retelling of it but your really don't care because it keep you engaged. And I think this is a problem with writers have that they don't see. (Me included)
Retelling themes like Beauty and the Beast, Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella, Twilight, should I go on?
The Problem is that they/we are not keeping the readers engaged enough without over exaggerating the story itself or the relationship they are trying to build with the characters. In my view I think this is what we really what to complain about.
If the story isn't engaging enough we will find ourselves rolling our eyes over something we can't look over. There has to be character development, something relatable about the story or the characters, and emotions that capures the readers. We can't exaggerat the story to the point our readers can't look over the "Cliche" or get passed the retelling of a plot that has been used more then once. There has to be something different about your story that makes it unique and interesting to the readers.
Let me know down in the comments if you agree or not and what you think about cliches as well as what you as a reader would like to see more of or less of in a story.
