~ TOM ~

Tom took a deep breath and raised his hand to knock on your door. He took a step back, waiting fo it to open. After a minute, the door opened, but it wasn't you.

"Victoria?" Tom asked, remembering her fiery red hair from earlier.

"Yeah." She gave Tom a quick once over, smiling to herself. "What's up?"

"I-is Y/N here?"

"Um. . ." Victoria looked back into the room. "No, she's not," she said, turning back to Tom. "I think she went out a few minutes ago."

"Do you know when she'll be back?"

"I don't know." She smiled at Tom. "I can hang out with you until she does."

"I think I'm ok for now. . ." Tom looked up and down the hallway. "I'll come back later."

"Ok!" Victoria smiled brightly at him as he turned to leave. His mind what whirling as he tried to figure out what he would say when he finally saw you.

"That was close," you said as Victoria closed the door to the room. "Thanks for covering for me."

"I got you, girl." She moved and sat back down beside you. "See, look, the article doesn't know even know that it's you that Tom kissed."

"I know, but there are only a few people that are stuck here because of the storm and came to the Brother's Trust event," you replied.

"That doesn't necessarily they're going to look at you. Maybe they'll theorize something like he has a secret girlfriend and she just stays at this hotel."

"I don't know. . ."

"Well, worrying about it won't help."

"What will?"

"Probably talking to him about it." You swallowed and looked back at the news article.

"You think that was why he was just here?" Victoria shrugged.

"Probably." You fell back onto the bed.

"I don't even know how to talk to him about it." Victoria fell back down beside you.

"Well. . . what if you just said that you need to clear up what happened?"

"He already said that it wouldn't happen again."

"Ah." There was a moment of silence between the two of you. "Well."

"Yep."

"Don't worry." Victoria patted your shoulder awkwardly. "No matter what happens, I'm here for you."
