"Who was that baby?" Keisha called out from the marble table.

Everyone's eyes locked on mine for me to respond. I adjusted my chair and stared into Keisha's warm, brown eyes although,it felt as if they turning cold.

"Just work," I reluctantly smiled as I took the marinated chicken.

"Okay," my father's voice rumbled across the table.

Everyone continued with their food except Keisha who seemed to gaze at me with disbelief.

I knew it, she didn't believe me.

"Son, you can stay here and go back tomorrow," my father held my shoulder and smiled.

"Very well," I replied.

"Work stuff huh," she scoffed as she went to bed

"Work stuff huh," she scoffed as she went to bed.

I stopped brushing my teeth and stared at myself in the mirror. What had I done?

I closed the faucet and sought myself to sleep beside Keisha.

"What do you want to know?" I whispered in her ear as I snuggled closer.

She didn't respond. I groaned and let go of her.

I stared into the ceiling.
