One year Later...
"Baby come look at this!" Lorna screamed.
I came running and saw Amber standing whilst clapping her hands.
I was so excited that I hugged Lorna and lifted her.
"Wow!" I almost shed some tears."Dada," she giggled.
"Wha-at!" I screamed like a little girl.
"I'm dada," I pointed to myself."She said dada." I held my mouth, trying to contain the excitement.
"She said momma four days ago when you went to the meeting in Spain," Lorna flipped her hair and smiled.
"Serious?" I laughed.
"Yes babe," she continued smiling.I lifted Amber and placed her on my shoulders. She giggled as I spun around.
"Wait!" Lorna grabbed the Nikon D3500 camera, "smile you guys."Two years later...
"Amber you're going to be late!" I honked the Ghost.
She scampered off and sat in the car whilst holding her tiny lunchbox. Her bag was attached to her back and her sleepy eyes made me so proud.
"Sorry daddy," she whimpered as she tried to close the door.
"It's okay baby. It's alright," I smiled and drove off."Twinkle tw-inkle little star," she jumped up and down as I sang with her.
"No daddy," she screamed, "that's for bedtime."I almost cried. She was definitely growing up.
"You are right baby," I stared at her and smiled."What's wrong daddy?" She played with her teddy bear.
Images of Keisha flashed before my eyes. She really looked like her mother.
"Oh nothing," I sniffled and chuckled.
"Is there an onion?" she searched around her seat."Haha, very funny," I said sarcastically.
She giggled and hugged her teddy bear.
"Mom said I should look for the onion that makes you cry," she giggled innocently."She did say that huh?" I laughed.
"Yes daddy," she leaned closer, "beat her."
"No violence baby!" I warned her sternly.
"Okay."The car slowed down as it reached the boom gates.
"Be safe okay?" I yelled as she got out of the car.
I laughed as I saw her hugging her friends. She's growing and she's growing faster than I thought.Amber walked up to the boy that faced his friends. With her tiny hands, she tapped his shoulder and her senior faced her, with a simple smile.
"I'm Amber," she waved and smiled.
"I'm Taylor," he smiled wider.Perhaps he was in love at a young age or perhaps he somehow knew who the dad was.
"Wanna play with me?" She grinned.
"Yes," he walked up to her."Mommy!" Amber placed the bag on the floor.
She ran up to Lorna and hugged her. She wiped her hands and placed Amber on the kitchen counter.
"So tell me, how did it go?" Lorna cut the onion on the rectangular wooden board.
"I have a new friend called Taylor." she giggled.
"Oh," Lorna shrugged, "a boy."
"Yes!" she shouted and swung her legs."He looks older."
"Okay," Lorna faced her and pointed at the bag on the floor.
"Get that before your dad comes okay?" She continued cutting.
"Okay mommy," she beamed."Mommy?" Taylor jumped into the car.
"Yes son," Joanna smiled lightly."I made a new friend." he smiled.
"Wow, what's his name?" She flicked her blinker and turned at a steady speed.Taylor continued smiling and faced his mother.
"It's a girl isn't it?" she laughed.
He nodded like a cuckoo bird."Name please," she laughed louder.
"Amber.""Sounds cute?" she accelerated the red Ferrari.
"She's nice mommy," he beamed.
Love at a young age. This is going to be a long year.
