Thank you guys for the support!!! This, to me, is one of the most painful chapters I've ever written 🥂. Enjoy the music!!

I yawned and switched off the lights. The keys slotted neatly into my pants. Joanna paced with small strides and stood in my way.
"Sir, you don't usually end work around nine in the evening," she spoke softly, "are you sure everything's okay?"

"Is this an insult?" I arched a brow, "why do you care anyway?" I bursted.
"There's something I have to tell you now!" She gently grabbed my briefcase and walked to the elevator.

The elevator dinged and Joanna couldn't stop talking about Keisha and how she's a cheat. We reached the car and I opened the door.

"Save your breath," I yawned again, "I was told everything already."
She stood there, puzzled at that statement.
"What are you going to do about it?" She said, putting the briefcase on the passenger's seat.
"Let me worry about it," I faked a smile and drove off.

The phone beeped and Joanna picked it up.
"He didn't take it," she paused, "time for another plan," she snickered.

I just wanted to sleep on my bed and drift away from this entire world. Why do these girls in my life have to crush me this way? I mean cheating and all, I banged the steering wheel. I was deeply crushed. Are all girls the same? I wondered.
The car stopped in the splendor garage. Tomorrow, we're going out! I screamed, pointing in the mirror.

The blinds magically opened at exactly six in the cold, rainy morning. Not a speck of sun appeared in the hazy clouds.
Shower droplets fell lightly on my beard. Let's prepare for the most extraordinary event of all times, I talked to myself. Let's go and take what is ours! I yelled to feel better about myself. I've suffered depression long enough. It's time to put a stop to it. I laughed like a maniac as I recalled the song Keisha and I sang every time. She was really bad at singing, I laughed more. Suddenly, I saw a naked girl enter the bathroom. Who the hell is that? I squinted my eyes to see clearly, but it was still hazy.

"I miss you," the voice whispered.
The girl got into the shower and scrubbed my hairless chest. I gasped as I saw a silhouette of Keisha but, with time I realized it was just a hallucination. Oh my..., I sat in the shower and cried profusely. Why! I cried the more. I'm broken inside. Will I get out of this stage? I wondered as I wiped myself. Looking at the wedding ring on my left hand, brought up all the memories of that day. Everything seemed so real. I drowned in my own thoughts. It's much safer than reality, I said. Let's get to work kid, I checked myself in the mirror. Vivid images of Keisha fixing my shirt sprang up.

"I love you," she once said.
Everything in the house reminded me of her. I ran to the kitchen and prepared some oats. Just then, Keisha stood there, holding onions.
"Baby, I'm not wearing any panties," the faint echoes emanated the entire kitchen.
I could hear her faint laughter. I told you, you weren't ready for this, I muttered under my breath. Shit, my oats! I grabbed the pot and dished my mushy oats.
'Fuck!' I threw the pot across the room and breathed slowly.

The Mercedes screeched into the parking lot. I walked into the shop and whistled as I started shopping for groceries. That time of day huh? I muttered under my breath as I checked for the milk prize.
"Excuse me?" A lady approached me.
Pregnant lady to be specific. She smiled from ear to ear. I gasped and dropped the milk carton.

"Why, how?" I stammered.
"Fate brought us back to where we first met," she pulled back her hair to reveal her golden eyes, "I'm Keisha," she exposed her front row teeth.
"A.ndr..ew," I stammered more.
"Call me please," she grabbed her trolley and walked away.

I ran after her outside and stopped her in her tracks.
"Want a ride?" I smiled weakly.
"Just like old times huh?" She smiled.
"This way," I cupped my hand on her waist and escorted her to the car.
Silence spread across the whole car. I cleared my throat and she giggled.
"I miss you," Keisha held my hand.
Her wedding ring still sparkled, the same way I bought it.
"You have no idea," tears fell down my cheeks.

I quickly held her hand and kissed it countless times. Tears finally streaked down her cheeks. The atmosphere was heavy now as I approached her gate.
"You coming?" She got out.
"I can't," I dried my tears, "I'm sorry."
Keisha struggled to say anything but nodded slowly and sniffled as she wrapped her jacket more in the windy day. Her tears fell on the rainy path.

"Okay," her voice croaked.
With the jacket wrapped around her, she folded her arms and crouched as she walked in the light drizzle, in the daytime, towards the gate. Tears slowly filled my red eyes.
Get it together, I said, reversing the car.

Lorna sat on the red couch and Keisha stepped in with a whimpering face.
"You met him?" Lorna stared at her miserable friend.
Keisha, unable to speak anymore, nodded in response. She was deeply crushed from within.
"Hey, it's okay," She ran to comfort her crying friend.
"Shh," she calmed Keisha down, "it's gonna be okay," she whispered and kissed her friend lightly on the forehead.
"He was...," she heaved in pain, "b.u..t now," she stammered.

"Shh," Lorna shushed her.
The rest of the crew enveloped her.
"It will get better," Kim addressed her, "now quick, let's pack up. We leave in two days."
Keisha sniffled and nodded in agreement.
