Maggie sat in the back seat reading her book while her older siblings, Darius and Trisha sat in the front. Trish let Darry drive, speeding down the empty back roads towards home in her car. As she read, she hummed a tune from their childhood while Trisha and Darry spoke ahead of her, her catching a bit of the conversation they were having. Then she noticed Trisha look back behind Maggie, who also looked back and noticed the four-way section and the stop sign. She didn't notice the car stop so she shook her head, he drove through it. Darry never had respect for others' vehicles.

"That was a stop sign." Trisha says.

"You're kidding, right?" Darry replies dryly.

"In your car, I'd be kidding." Trish says turning back to the front.

"I haven't seen a car in 50 miles." He tries to defend.

"Rules of the road apply to all vehicles Darry, even ours." Maggie says behind him.

"Oh keep reading bookworm." He smarts back with a smirk as he looked back behind him at her.

She merely sticks her tongue out at him, making him chuckle. As he turns his attention back to the road, he smirks, seeing an RV ahead and began to speed up. Maggie shook her head as he came up to the back of the vehicle quickly.

"Come on Darry." Trisha grumbles as Maggie rolls her eyes.

As they pull up to the rv, Darry reads the license plate aloud. They played this game for years, but Maggie never really enjoyed it so she was left out. She continued to read as Darry read the license plate aloud.

"Gay fever. No gay forever! Gay forever that's mine! That's 3 for the middle sibling!" he laughs.

"That's a 6, not a G idiot. That's sexy forever, that's mine. That's five to two." Trisha smarts back as they drive past the rv, seeing old folks inside glaring down at them. Maggie looked up as well as saw the less then excited look the three in the vehicle that had the gull to drive up to their asses. Maggie gave them a sheepish smile and small wave, which the two just looked away as Darry drove ahead.

"Yeesh..." Maggie grumbles sitting back and sticking her nose in her book.

"Sexy forever huh?" Darry grumbles.

"That's you in 40 years." Trisha smarts. After a moment, the car went silent, while Darry looked over at Trisha, who was looking out the window angrily.

"There's usually a reason when you like the long way home." Darry says, earning the girls' attention to him.

"Gee like maybe I like the country?" Trisha replies.

"Okay."

"Just drive brat."

"I'm only thinking the same thing mom and dad are gonna be thinking." Darry says, looking at their older sister who continued to look out the window.

'Trisha why are you driving home for spring break with your brat brother and not heading off somewhere with that nice Mr. Poli-sci-track-team guy'?" he imitates their mother's voice poorly while Maggie giggles in the back seat.

"Laugh it up back there, chuckles." Trisha growls at Maggie, who set her book down.

"Darry's right for once. Mom's gonna be concerned and you know she's gonna corner you with a bunch of questions." Maggie says leaning forward to be in the middle of them.

"Then I will tell her the same thing I told you two, none of your goddamn business."

"I'm just saying if you broke it off with him you should at least figure out what your gonna tell them. They're the ones in love with the guy." Maggie says as she returns once more to her book while Trisha tries to find a decent radio station. But it was all bible and gospel, so she turned it back off with a huff.
