A while later Eli and Dr. Stevens finished and Shawn took me home. My whole mouth was numb which Shawn thought was pretty funny. As we were in the car, I kept poking my cheek which made him chuckle. We both came into my apartment and took a seat on the couch.
"Would you like to watch a movie?" he asked. I nodded my head as Paisley came out and joined us. I cuddled into his arms as he messed with the remote, opening Netflix and scrolling through the selections.
I don't remember much because soon enough, I fell asleep. I awoke to find myself alone on the couch. The windows showed that night had fallen. After rubbing my eyes, I realized the numbness had completely worn off and my mouth was in pain. I held my hand up to my cheek as I got up to grab some medication from out of the cabinet.
I turned the corner leading to my bathroom but stopped in my tracks. In the reflection of the mirror, I saw Shawn leaning over the counter. He brushed his hands through his hair and sighed, turning to lean against the vanity. He seemed mad about something but I couldn't tell what it was.
I stepped into my bathroom but didn't go to the cabinet. As Shawn saw me, his sad expression dropped as he stuck on a fake smile. I knew it wasn't genuine. With my hand still on my cheek, I took a step towards him.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Nothing babe. It's nothing." he lied. His body was tense and I could sense he wasn't happy.
"Shawn, I know it's something. Tell me what's wrong." I said with a stern expression. He sighed again and leaned on the counter once more.
"This is all my fault." he said, looking at the ground. I was confused as to what he was talking about.
"Huh-" I asked but was cut off.
"If it wasn't for me, you would of never fallen. You wouldn't have had to gone to the hospital and into your clinic today. I know this is my fault." he said. I stepped towards him and took his hands into my own.
"I saw how much pain I caused you. You were bleeding and I saw how scared you were. Because of me, you had to have a procedure in your own office!" he continued.
"Shhh, Shawn" I whispered. I squeezed his hands and kissed him on the cheek. "Nothing was your fault, I promise. This happens to people all the time. It's something we can't control and that's okay. I'm fine now." I said smiled. He pulled my body into his and wrapped his arms around me.
"I'm so sorry" he said. We stood there for a few minutes until I pulled away. I motioned to him that I needed the medicine cabinet and he moved out of the way. After taking two pills out of the container, I swallowed them with some water and turned back towards him.
"Does it still hurt?" he asked. I nodded and he took my face into his hands. "Aww babe, you're a little swollen" he said sympathetically. I hugged him, resting my head onto his chest. Soon enough, the medicine kicked in and we were able to enjoy the rest of the night.

THREE MONTHS LATER
"Come on, Shawn, we are going to be late!" I yelled from my closet. After slipping on my scrubs, I pulled my hair up and frantically ran around my room. He was still laying in my bed, wearing nothing but his underwear.
"I don't want too," he moaned. "Can't we just stay here?"
I gave him 'the look' as I slipped on a pair of socks. "No, I have a very busy day and you, sir, have a dentist appointment. I am not letting you skip that." I said. He groaned as he rolled out of bed. Making his way into my bathroom, I playfully hit in in the arm which made him smile. A mischievous expression formed on his face which made my eyes widen. His arm shot out and pulled me into his chest. He squeezed me as I laughed and tried to get out of his grip. I wiggled out of his arms but felt a light tap on my butt which made me laugh even harder.
"Come on!!!" I yelled. "Put some clothes on. We're late!"
