Shout out to @BeachPineapple17 for helping me! I've been having some writers block and she helped me get back on my feet! Everyone go check her out!

My alarm buzzed as I rolled over in bed. My head was pounding. I slid the clock off of my nightstand, hearing it hit the ground and the beeping stopped. I laid in satisfaction for a few moments longer, contemplating weather I should go to work or not. After making the tough decision of getting up, I slowly got ready. Since my hangover was pretty severe, it took me twice as long.

I said goodbye to Paisley and got into my car. After taking a bug swig of my coffee, I began my drive to the office. As I pulled into the parking lot, I noticed there were very few cars. In fact, the only cars in the lot were from the staff. I trudged into the building with my bag in hand but was stopped at the front desk.

"There is a meeting in the break room in a few minutes. Something has happened and Dr. Stevens doesn't seem too happy." the receptionist said. I walked down the hall past my employees, hearing the chatter of what could possibly be wrong. Soon enough, I was paged to the break room along with everyone else.

We all crowded around the table, some of us taking seats. Dr. Stevens was at the head and we all patiently waited for him to explain the reasoning behind this meeting. He cleared his throat and the room fell silent.

"As some of you may have heard, out clinic isn't doing too well anymore. Patients have been switching to the other clinics that are closer to them and we aren't making money like we used to. I hate to say this but we will be closing as of today." he said. His face was filled with sorrow. He continued to talk about the details and why everything was happening so quickly. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "You all will be relocated to different offices or you can wait until I get my new office up and running but that won't be for some time. It will also be located about an hour East so it would be a far commute. I don't blame you if you look for jobs here. I am sincerely sorry to you all. You've been a great team." he said.

We spent about an hour asking questions and coming to the realization that we were now unemployed. I stepped out of the room and gave Shawn a call.

"Hey, Babe! How you feeling?" he said, quite bubbly.

"I've got a pretty bad head ache but I still made it into work. I just found out some news though which isn't helping." I replied.

"Oh, whats up?" he asked sincerely. He could tell by the tone of my voice that it wasn't good. I continued to explain to him about how the office was closing and that I would need to start looking for offices that are hiring. He, too, was surprised that this news was so sudden.

"Rachel, you are amazing at your job, trust me. I know anyone would be lucky to hire you so please don't stress. We'll get you a new job real soon and it will be a whole new experience." he said, trying to be optimistic. I agreed with him and said thanks. His advice really helped. As the call came to an end, I packed up my stuff and made my way to the front. I hugged all of my now former coworkers and made sure I had everyones contact information. I knew we'd all see each other again. I shook Dr. Stevens' hand and thanked him for being a good teacher. I knew he taught me more than any textbook could. Before I knew it, I was out the door, headed back home.
