the following morning approached, the two girlies still wrapped up in each others embrace as they slept contently. jeongyeon was the first to wake up, eyes resting on a jihyo curled on top of her — mind deep in a slumber as her arms clung to jeong, as if the older was a teddy. it was a cute sight to see overall, jihyo looked comfortable. which probably won't be the case when she wakes up.
baby hyo's first hangover.
and potential embarrassment from last night.
jeongyeon decided that she probably wouldn't bring up the kiss; to save them both from embarrassment and awkwardness. not that she didn't enjoy the kiss; having jihyo's plump lips against hers almost felt like heaven. it was overwhelming and unexpected yes, but how she wishes the kiss was genuine and not from a drunken mindset.
how she wishes she didn't pull away,
cheeks warming up, jeong shook away the thought and let out a little sigh.
after a while, jihyo woke up too. eyes narrowing as she looked around, eventually finding their way to jeongyeon as she raised a brow.
"morning cutie." jeongyeon uttered, patting jihyo's back as the younger shuffled up.
"what are you doing here?" jihyo asked, her voice groggy as she rubbed her eyes. the young girl looked quite pale and weak, as if she could fall asleep any moment.
"you insisted i stay over last night." jeong hummed in response.
"i don't remember that."
"yeah, you won't. it's called being drunk? and the sick feeling you have is a hangover." jeong tutted with a smug grin. she started corrupting jihyo's innocent mind, starting with alcohol at least. she doubted jihyo would try it again.
"damn." jihyo muttered under her breath; "im probably not going to do much today, jeong. you can leave if you want."
"you look like you could pass out, jihyo." jeongyeon stated and crossed her arms. "let me stay and take care of you."
of course jihyo went to protest, shutting up after. a topic like this would be pointless to argue about, jeong would always win. she was stubborn.
"what happened to the nickname jeongie?" jeongyeon smirked a little, leaning in as she raised a brow. all she got was a confused glare. "yeah, my baby was a wild one last night. came up with all sorts, exclaiming about my poofy hair was the cutest."
"oh shut up i don't wanna know any more-" jihyo whined, covering her face with her blankets as she huffed.
"nah you were cute last night, you looked like you were having fun which I'm happy about."
"any other embarrassing things I should be aware of?"
"nah, don't worry about it, hyo."
jihyo furrowed her brows a bit but nodded her head. "you can lay back down ! i'll sort you some breakfast." jeongyeon insisted. a sweet smile lacing on her face as she tucked jihyo in, making sure she was all cozy and such before scrambling up and making her way to the kitchen.
jeongyeon had no idea how to cook.
but she would try anyway.
giving up in the process, she changed her plans and made jihyo some cereal and orange juice. better than nothing, she'd tell herself in reassurance.
see, jeongyeon was never a softie. to anyone. not even this soft with her sister. so she never really had a need to cook, while in college and living alone she'd really just order things instead of make them. she never really felt a sense of motivation or dedication toward anyone, so why bother?
she never enjoyed showcasing her soft side.
with jihyo, it was somewhat impossible to hide her softness. perhaps in public she was your basic cool kid who didn't care about anything. but when alone with jihyo, she wanted to everything she could do make her happy.
and yet she couldn't understand why.
flirting was always playfully intended.
but she gradually felt an attachment growing, felt a feeling of love emerging.
once again she would shrug off her thoughts and check back on jihyo who was half asleep.
"you okay there, love?" jeong asked as she gave the younger her breakfast. sitting beside her after as she joined her in the blankets.
"i feel like a living death." jihyo complained, a pout on her face, "im never drinking alcohol again."
"wow your none-innocent side didn't last long did it? already reverting."
"it was weird. maybe next time i'll be the one having to deal with a drunk jeongyeon."
"i can deal with myself."
"doubt that but okay." jihyo hummed, leaning against the taller as she ate her breakfast elatedly. her mood lifting. jeong took this as an opportunity to wrap her arm around the others shoulder, tracing gentle patterns along her arm. drawing imaginary shapes as she fell into a little daze. snapping out of it when noticing jihyo had slept again, understandable really. she took the empty bowl and put it on the bedside table. then shuffling under the blankets, keeping her movements quiet in fear of waking up the sleeping beauty.
she held the smaller close her, hands running through her silk-like hair as she closed her eyes.
"goodnight, my love."
