jeongyeon watched the smaller, quite taken aback from jihyo's little outburst. it was rather obvious she made the younger uncomfortable. even though her goal was to try hear jihyo speak, this outcome wasn't pleasing, she actually felt bad. she snapped out of her thoughts when jihyo turned to walk again.
deciding to leave her alone, jeongyeon too set off for home. still unable to recover, jeong was supposed to be tough-hearted and a tease at that, it was baffling as to why she was so impacted by three words. her voice was cute though, even if it was angry. tutting, jeongyeon mentally slapped herself for thinking such thing and continued her way home.
when getting back inside, she was met with a somewhat nice surprise. her sister had come to visit ! or had come to lecture her about responsibilities and that jazz. jeongyeon's family was never supportive about the way she acted, she was sprouting into adulthood and still hadn't of found a 'bOyFriEnd' and lacked a job. the one thing they were happy about was college, but overall they were usually quite critical about who she hung out with, how she dressed, it felt like they hated everything.
the idea of coming out as lesbian to her family was also far out the window, they'd stop associating with her probably. her sister was the only one who was,, nice? she was worried about jeongyeon's standard of living but she was nicer than her parents.
"seungyeon? what are you doing here?" jeong questioned, setting her stuff down on the sofa as she looked at the older. "i just wanted to see how my baby sister is, i didn't have a chance to message.." seungyeon responded, eyeing her sister carefully.
"you look off, are you tired? i can come another time if you like." her sister continued, jeongyeon shaking her head as a response. "no im fine, just a tiring day. im glad you're here."
"well, we can talk about it over dinner if you want. i'll take us out !" seungyeon stated as she grabbed her bag and jacket. jeongyeon didn't protest much, her sisters company was probably the best for her. you could say the only thing she had a soft spot for was her sister, and her dog of course. she acted differently, maybe nicer, around her sister. she's a completely different person when around friends.
the two walked to a well-known café, talking most of the way, catching up on events they might have missed, until finally getting to the café. it was quite full and busy, yet that didn't really bother the sisters much. full food places were comforting, if you were looking to have a deep conversation it wouldn't be awkward and quiet. there were more people to drown out the silences and such. seungyeon ordered for the two of them before turning her attention on her sister.
"so how's college going for you?" seung asked softly, having already been to college and such, she was more than willing to give her sister advice.
"it's fine? you know, just normal." jeong uttered in response. it already felt awkward, jeong never really tried much in college. compared to her sister at least, she recalls her sister bringing home books upon books of revision. jeongyeon has never done that.
"and your grades?"
"do we have to talk about this?"
"mum and dad payed a lot so you could come to this college."
"i know."
"don't mess it up."
"i get decent grades, keep in mind it's my first year." jeongyeon snapped, sitting back as she crossed her arms. seungyeon pursed her lips but gave a nod, "well. what happened today then? your mood sucks."
"not important."
"so? you can still tell me."
jeongyeon shook her head dismissively, if she told seungyeon she teased a girl into talking she'd be listening to a lecture from her, and probably her parents. she did have more love her seungyeon, and appreciated her more. but..her sister was just a huge snitch. if she was concerned about something she'd tell their parents. "um, just didn't sleep last night. revision, you understand."
seungyeon would probably question further, yet to save the day for jeong, their food had arrived.
after food, the two gave a parting hug before saying their goodbyes for the night.

the next day arrived, jeongyeon was already in class biting on a pen lid. she seemed to be in her own world as she didn't even notice jihyo take her seat beside her. of course she sat up a bit more and stopped harassing the lid when she saw the petite girl, clearing her throat a bit too.
the atmosphere between them was significantly more tense than it had ever been before. jeongyeon didn't know whether to speak up or to just leave her alone. essentially deciding on speaking up.
"um. hello jihyo." jeong spoke, putting on a smile. the only reply she got was a little shuffle away. "how was your morning..?"
all she got was silence, making a chuckle leave her lips as she questioned why she even tried small talk. "nice to hear. my morning was great, thanks for asking." she rolled her eyes and looked forward.
similar to yesterday, jeong tried talking through notes again, to see if jihyo would actually try respond.
hey, i do feel bad about yesterday. i probably went too far.
jihyo did read the note, passing it back to jeongyeon. not a single word was written.
i should have respected your boundaries, i won't make you do anything that makes you uncomfortable again.
jihyo furrowed her brows at that note, yikes if someone found these they'd think the situation was worse. the thought made her giggle a bit but she once again gave back the note.
damn not even a response there but you're laughing? you're making this hard.
right fine then. i'm sorry for yesterday, i acted like a child. how can i make it up for you?
jihyo felt a smile tug at her lips when reading the two other notes. at least jeongyeon recognised when she did wrong? or at least she felt bad. showed she wasn't always insensitive. 'it's okay, you don't have to do anything.'
jeongyeon perked up when finally getting a note back.
you sure? i can take you out for lunch or something.
'i'm sure, it's fine (:'
whatever baby hyo says then.
your voice was cute though.
jihyo raised a brow at the final note as she pursed her lips and scrunched it up, throwing the paper back at jeong. amusement gleaming in her eyes.
'just shut up.'
