Seven Years Later~

Since that incident, seven years had gone by and the situation had been swiftly wrapped up — much due to the help of Karasuma. Though it was a major offense to fabricate truth and falsify information, he was willing to do it for the sake of his students. During the year that they had been together and acted as their teacher, he had developed an unconditional love for them, especially for Korosensei who whole-heartedly dedicated himself to teaching the students of E-Class and Lucy who was finally able to experience the normal life of a student and protect her newfound loved ones. She had saved Korosensei and most of all, she had saved them. After finally having rid of Shiro and attained the normal life that she always wanted, he wasn't going to take it away from her.

Pulling some strings here and there, along with the help of Korosensei, Irina, and Ritsu, they were able to erase any data and documentation on Lucy and replaced it with documentation that listed Lucy as an experimentation subject of Shiro's. She was given a similar situation to that of Itona's and regarding the matter of Korosensei, Karasuma had given the explanation that he had miraculously turned back into his original form after expending too much energy, giving time for the anti-matter cells to slowly waste away and die.

"If I had to say, things wrapped up pretty nicely," Irina remarked.

She sat at the edge of Karasuma's desk cross-legged, fiddling with a pen as she twirled it around in her hand. She placed a hand at her side and turned to face him, her light blue eyes shining with pride and content.

"You really did well, Karasuma."

The latter looked up at him, his sharp, angular black eyes staring straight back at her. He returned back to his documents without giving much care and Irina pouted, returning back to the pen.

"Can't you at least acknowledge a compliment?" she picked up another pen and began clashing it against one another.

Karasuma ignored her and despite the fact that she was a talented assassin who took pride in manipulating the opposing party's feelings, she failed to notice the obvious. When it came to the man that she herself loved and the man who she proudly called her husband, she couldn't see what should be obvious to the infamous assassin Irina Jelavić. As much as he tried to put on a stoic front, he couldn't hide his reddened ears and the repeated beating of his heart which thumped from seeing her face light up with a cute smile as her eyes shone with adoration for him. He gave a curt smile before wiping it from his face, not willing to let her see for he knew she was going to tease him about it.

"In any case, seven years have already passed since then, huh?" Irina looked up at the ceiling, a fond expression in her eyes. "To think that those kids would grow up so fast."

Karasuma smiled with pride. "Yeah."

"Imagine the shock when I saw Chiba and Hayami here! You didn't tell me that they were hired by the Ministry of Defense!" she exclaimed.

"The two have always had amazing skills. Recruiting them into the Ministry of Defense was a given," Karasuma simply replied. "Though, what's even more amazing is how an ex-assassin ended up joining the Ministry of Defense. What happened to the work I gave you?"

Irina blinked her eyes before giving a playful smile. "Tee-hee."

"Don't 'tee-hee' with me," a tick mark appeared on his forehead. "Get out of my office and get back to work!"

He began to drag her by the collar but Irina held on fast, a look of shock first appearing before she slowly stopped and looked up at him with tears in her eyes.

"Karasuma, just a little while longer. Please?"

"You know that's not going to work," he said, getting more irritated by the second, his foot already in the doorway.
