Dream woke up with a start. Blinking the sleep out his eyes he turned on his bedside lamp and jumped.

"Evening Dream. How was your day?" Cross stood casually before him, a plate of tacos in hand.

"Cross?" Dream cried in disbelief. "I thought you left!" Cross shrugged.

"I did," he replied through a mouthful of tacos. "But I saw someone that caught my eye and I just had to investigate." Dream rubbed the sleep from his eyes and blinked, still uncertain what he was seeing was real.

"What are you doing in my apartment? If you needed a place to stay you could've just asked." Cross smiled.

"Oh no, I don't need a place to go. I just thought you'd be interested in who I saw hovering around the abandoned part of town." Dream frowned.

"Alright who is it?" He asked. Cross's smile turned into a grin.

"Your sister. She's back."

Nightmare shuffled in her position on Geno's couch. Dust and Horror were sharing a room where Error's brother Fresh used to sleep. Killer was sharing with Error in her old room, a specific request of Error's as 'Killer's the only one she could possibly deal with'. Reaper was sleeping in Error's mum's room and Nightmare was on the couch. Dust had stared when she said she'd be staying in the living room.

"Why not share a room with Reaper?" She asked. "At least we'll have someone there to look after her."

"No," Nightmare said. "She needs all the room she can get. I'll sleep on the couch."

Nightmare shuffled again so she was on her back. She would be lying if she said she wasn't regretting not taking an actual room a little bit but she didn't exactly have the best history with parents' rooms. She heard a noise and sat up as she saw a figure walked past her and into the kitchen. Having given up on sleep and with nothing better to do, Nightmare stood up and followed the mystery figure into the kitchen. Geno was standing at the kitchen bench, making himself a sandwich.

"Good morning," he said, raising an eyebrow. "What are you doing up?" Nightmare looked at the clock. 3:00 am.

"Couldn't sleep," she answered quietly.

"I told you my couch is uncomfortable." Nightmare smiled.

"Yeah, it is." Geno returned to his sandwich and said.

"Any reason you refuse to sleep in my mother's room despite the convenience. It's not because of space as you said." Nightmare raised her eyebrows. Geno chuckled. "It was a pathetic excuse and you know it." Nightmare chuckled with him.

"I'm not exactly... comfortable sleeping in a room I know used to belong to someone's mum," she answered. Finishing putting together his sandwich, Geno looked at her again and studied her face.

"Interesting," he mumbled. "Say... how about I move into my mum's room with your sleeping friend and you sleep in my room. I've been sleeping in her room since she died anyway." Nightmare frowned.

"No, I won't be a hypocrite," she said.

"Would you rather be an insomniac?" He asked. Nightmare sighed.

"Fine that'll work but the job of looking after Reaper now falls on you." Geno snorted.

"The job of looking after you all fell on me as soon as you entered my house." He perked up as he realised something. "Oh yeah, I wanted to ask. Can I have a rundown their quirks? If they're going to be living in my house I'll need to know." Nightmare took a deep breath.

"You'll kick them out," she warned. Geno shrugged.

"Too late. I took up the favour and now I'm stuck with you. All I want is to know what I just signed up for." Nightmare sighed.
