Eswatini was now a distant memory because it was time to get back to work. The king assured me that our conversation would not only be concealed, but that real action would be done about the matter. Things were no longer in my hands, and now it was time to fall back and trust the process.

To be honest, I was going to miss the motherland. My brother and I took an extra day there to browse and do tourist activities, and that made me appreciate our roots and where we came from even more. Africa was so inspiring and beautiful, I'd visit there a thousand times with no complaints. The people, the culture, the views. That continent was surely something special.

"Damn girl, you're really out of it today. Not a moan, nor a squeal. Am I losing my touch?"

I glanced down at Ravi, an expensive broker I was currently screwing. He flashed a cocky smile back at me, which regained my focus. Ravi was the second Indian man on the agenda today, for my diverse and multicultural ass never discriminated. He was one of my best clients, because he actually followed my rules and paid next level amazing. Ravi had big connects, and anytime I needed a plug when Astra failed, he was always there to the rescue.

"Got a lil distracted." I responded sweetly. "You'll never lose your spark."

"Oh, I know." Ravi boasted. "Turn around, I'm tryna hit it from the back."

Smiling seductively, I did as I was told. I really wasn't up for this event despite how good Ravi was in bed, but a job was a job and your girl still had to make that dough. My mind was heavily burden with the events from Eswatini, for the outcome was still unclear. Raja Ajade was always the type of woman to have a mission completely finished, a closed case allowed me to move on to the next one. Therefore, being uninformed by the king about the actual progress of the Deo situation was leaving me in limbo.

But still, I had to count the achievements. The Eswatini trip was without a doubt a successful occurrence, I had to give myself that. Although confronting the king was not a direct hit at Stanley, it was indeed a jab at the disgrace of a mayor because I was slowly peeling back his dirty dealings. On the plane ride home, I concluded that outing Stanley was going to be harder than I thought. The man was extremely connected and protected. So if I had to keep on taking jabs until he crumbled, then so be it. Shit, I managed to take down Deo in the process. And that was still a win.

Ravi gripped my hair, demanding attention. It was kinda sexy, for a man being dominant and assertive was always a turn on for me. I liked men who knew what they wanted, and were straight up about everything. Beating around the bush and being passive in the bedroom was an irritation, and I'm glad none of my clients never fit into that category.

Slapping my ass with great force, Ravi fully took the reigns of our exchange. Although I couldn't see him, I still felt his passion and sensuality. I was doing the bare minimum of throwing my ass back and moaning slightly but I don't think Ravi cared. He just wanted his nut. But the successful broker was right about one thing, my mind wasn't into our intercourse. And I hated that it showed.

It wasn't long before Ravi busted all over the hotel's sheets, and boy was I relieved. This Eswatini debacle was seriously throwing me off my game, and I disliked that it was affecting my mojo like this. It was time to snap back into the sexy, fearful, bad bitch Raja. The Raja that had men kissing her feet. All this contemplating and overthinking was not me, it was so beyond me.

"So are you gonna tell me what's really going on?" Ravi asked, slipping off the bed to grab some champagne by a nearby counter. "You already know you can tell me anything."

"I don't know what you're talking about." I responded, sitting up. "I think the stress from work is making you paranoid. Let's straighten that out with a round two."

Ravi snickered as he poured us some of the bubbly beverage. "You've always been the worst liar, since college days. I've been knowing you far too long Raja. What's up? Talk to me."

I pouted playfully as Ravi returned with the wine glasses. Sitting besides me, he softly gave me a kiss on the forehead, which made my ice cold heart skip a beat. The simple action was so innocent and sweet, I don't even think Ravi understood how sentimental it was. Ravi was such a good and noble man, I actually wanted him to find a decent woman to build and have a family with. I wouldn't even mind separating from a bag for his happiness. He really was the best, and proved numerous times that he'll take the whole world down just for me. And that was one of the main reasons why I was about to start lying my ass off fresh again. Ravi was loyal to a fault. Letting him in on my worries and doubts would only make him do something he had absolutely no business doing.

"It's just family stuff." I replied, trying to convince not only Ravi but myself. "You know how that be."

"Oh, you know first hand I do." Ravi responded. "My father reminds me every day about the head start I had in life. That man will never get tired of reminding me about the things he's done for me. Shit's sickening."

I nodded supportively, glad that I chose the topic of family to get Ravi off my case. Ravi Lambordi was the son of Muhammad Lambordi, and Muhammad owned the most top notched broker agency in the country. Muhammad worked tirelessly to make his organization as successful as it is, and Ravi was the heir to that throne. There was an immense amount of pressure on Ravi to follow in his father's footsteps, and become even greater than Muhammad was. Ravi's father wasn't making things any better, as he was slowly ruining his son's life by being a dictative, controlling piece of work. I truly felt bad for Ravi.

"Hang in there, it'll be all over soon." I encouraged. "One day, the old man's gonna be gone and you're going to rule that empire how you see fit. And I know you'll do great. You're gonna be better than old head Lambordi could've ever imagined."

Ravi laughed at the thought. We rested back into the bed talking, reflecting about college life and life in general. It was actually quite therapeutic, for Ravi was one of the few people who knew why I left school. He was such a good listener, for although I was careful with my words, I felt like I could tell him any and everything. That's how I knew I needed to wrap up this conversation. This man was starting to give me husband vibes, and I couldn't get caught up in those bullshit feelings.

"I gotta get back to work, but thanks for this afternoon." Ravi announced. "I trust the wire to your account was successful?"

Checking my phone, I nodded. Ravi quickly got dressed, and before I knew it we were saying our goodbyes and he was heading through the door. I watched him leave, and sighed restlessly. I had to keep my feelings out of this. Me having any sort of attachment to him was a recipe for disaster. He was my longest client, and that's what he was supposed to remain...a client. Nothing more, nothing less.

Ravi barged back into the room within seconds, and for a moment I thought he forgot something. But he was looking at me strangely, and he seemed on edge which was so unlike his character.

"So I guess your family problems are following you." Ravi chuckled nervously. "Because your mom's outside, and she's refusing to leave. What do you wanna do about this?"
