Lecture was boring.

Wyatt kept his gaze on Tyler, smiling to himself as he looked down at the ring on his pinky finger. He fidgeted with it; he didn't even take it off last night before bed.

Tyler talked about different genres of film the whole class, and how the industry needed to constantly come up with new ideas instead of recycling the same storylines.

"Aight. Before I let y'all go we have club today, so I'll see you guys there. Don't forget to write that paper on the film you chose. Due next week."

Everyone began to pack up and leave.

"You going to club?" Syd asked.

"Yeah. You?"

She nodded her head yes.

Alexa wouldn't even look at him. She sat in the front this time, Wyatt could tell she was ignoring him.

"Hey."

No reply.

"Alexa."

She turned around.

"What?"

"You going?"

"I don't have a choice."

She fixed her bag as she made her way out.

"The fuck wrong with her?" Syd scoffed, zipping up her backpack.

Wyatt shrugged.

He watched as Tyler looked through his laptop.

"I'll catch you in club. I need to talk to him about the um, grades."

"I'll go look for Crystal."

He nodded.

Wyatt watched as the last person walked out of the class, he walked over to Tyler.

"You didn't text me the assignment last night."

Tyler looked up from the screen.

"Oh shit," he looked back on the screen, "two page essay on the film genre of your choice."

Wyatt nodded.

"I'll see you in club."

"Looking forward to it," Tyler grinned.

...

"So you guys hooking up?" Crystal asked, looking at Alexa from the other side of the theater. Crystal and Wyatt were partnered up and were directing the light situation.

Alexa and Syd were in charge of the props on the other side.

The rest of the club was either setting up props, fixing the cameras, directing, or part of the theater group. They were doing practice runs.

Luckily Wyatt and Crystal just had to follow Tyler's instructions of when to turn the lighting off and on.

"That was one time."

"What about last night?"

Wyatt scoffed.

"What? you don't think we heard your little grunts?" She laughed.

Wyatt sighed.

"It's casual."

"Mhmm. Did Frank tell you about the art party thing at his place tonight?"

"Nah, I haven't seen him."

"He's having a bunch of his artsy friends at his place, he invited all of us too."

He nodded.

"I need a distraction anyway."

"That's the spirit," Crystal laughed.

...

Once club was over, everyone began to help clean up.

Crystal started reminding Syd and Alexa on it too.

"I don't know. I'm behind on my other class—,"

"You're the last person that worries about that shit. C'mon," Syd nudged Alexa.

Alexa looked up at Wyatt, making slight eye contact.

"Just come," Wyatt replied.

She crossed her arms.

"Whatever. I'm not drinking this time though."

Wyatt agreed.

"Navarro!" Tyler called from the stage.

"I'll see y'all tonight then," Wyatt told them before leaving.

He turned around, making his way up to the stage where Tyler was.

"You called me?"

Tyler looked down at his phone.

"I just got this email..." he read it over, "It's a director screening in London that they want me to speak at."

Wyatt furrowed his eyebrows.

"And?"

Tyler looked up at him.

"It's this weekend. I want you to come with me."

Wyatt's eyes widened.

"Like, on a plane? with you?"

Tyler chuckled.

"It's a plus one. Imaan can't make it, I was thinking you could use the experience." Tyler smiled.

"I mean, yeah, I think?"

"We'll get back Sunday night."

"The essay's due on Monday though—,"

"Fuck the essay. I'll give you all the credit you need." Tyler got closer, although they were both the same height, Wyatt still felt like Tyler towered over him.

"Then I'll go."

"Pack a suitcase then. I'll text you the details."

Wyatt nodded, Tyler walking past him as he bumped his body slightly into his. He couldn't believe it was really happening; something to look forward to. Wyatt grinned ear to ear, making his way out.
