Melody was right in front of her large house, embracing me and searching for any signs of pain.

"Are you sure your all right?" Melody asked spectacle.

"Yes" I reassured. "Are you okay Adam?" I saw Adam behind me studying his arm.

And then Adam closed his eyes as if to respond but instead was leaning back.

"ADAM!" I yelled in my speed to catch him.

"Adam!" I panicking as I held him in my arms and saw his arm with little cuts. Probably from the chandelier that fell from the roof, that he protected me from. He looked weak and tired. Blood was oozing uncontrollably.

"Melody!" I screamed. "Call the family doctor!" I commanded as I brought him into the guest room of the house.

I laid Adam's body on the softest pillow possible and reached for his head. He had a mild fever. With speed, I fast and furiously wrapped his tiny arm in white soft bandages after I cleaned the wound with alcohol. I would had thought alcohol and cuts, especially to a human, would make him flinch, but he didn’t even move. I placed a light blanket over his lower half of his body and took out his shoes, placing it next to the bed.

"Melody?!" I ran to find her on the phone, nodding.

She turned to me, "He said he's on his way. Should be here in about 5 minutes" she gave me a worried look. "I do hope nothing serious is wrong with little Adam" Melody added.

It had seemed that Melody had taken fond of Adam. Maybe it was because she knew I couldn't have kids as a vampire. Or maybe it was because maybe she never had a figure to fulfill the role of a grandchild. Any how, I expected Adam as my own child. Even if he didn't regard me a 'mom'.

"Have you talked to Darren?" I asked, my hands feeling cold even though it was normal.

"Yes, after you called. He should be coming now" she nodded.

Just then the doorbell rang. And Melody raced to open the door. In came a man of silver hair and white pale skin. He was obviously a vampire.

"My queens" he bowed nodding to both of us with a smile. "I'm Dr. Mathews, we've met before, I believe" he said to me.

"We have?" I asked confused.

"Yes, yes, you were turning  purple, I believe?" he asked.

"Oh, you were the doctor!" I said, recalling.  "Please, take a look at my child" I ushered him up the stairs and into the room, where Adam was laying.

"You gave birth to a child?" the doctor asked in disbelief.

"No" I sighed. "Me and Darren adopted him" I filled him in.

"Oh" he nodded understanding and then took out his things. A stethoscope was out of his bag and placed on Adam's chest.

After a few times a nerve hit me, since silence was the last thing I was waiting to hear.

“What’s wrong doctor? Is he alright?” I asked in panic.

“His breathing is slowly” Dr. Mathews said listening to his heart beat.

“Yes, what does that mean then? Is he hurt?” my heart was increasing furiously in anxiety.

The doctor took out his stethoscope away from Adam’s skin and gave me a sympathetic look. My heart fell down to my stomach at that moment.

“I seems Adam can be going fully into a coma any second. The effect of the cuts and perhaps banging his head somewhere between a time, he could be suffering coma. Especially because he is human, small and fragile” the doctor explained.

My hands found their way to my heart, and my mouth was opened in shock. “What?” I was speechless.

I witnessed the doctor check Adam’s eyes with a flashlight. I could see Adam’s eyes rolling in their sockets as if he was sleeping. I stood there silently in a horrible mental state. I even caught the doctor next picking Adam’s arm. Adam made no wince or movement in response.

“I’m afraid it’s that. He’s in a state of coma” the doctor sighed sympathetic.

“How long?” I asked, quietly.

“Maybe weeks, maybe months or maybe…” the doctor didn’t finish.

“Maybe what? Maybe forever?” I asked in the verge of tears. Though I knew vampires couldn’t cry. Their perfect emotion boundaries concealed the opportunities.

The doctor only nodded in defeat. And that’s when I lost all hope and mind.
