ASH'S POV:

Trying to find the basement in this castle wasn't hard. But trying to fight seven guards at the same time alone. Now that was a challenge.

I gave my best wolf frequency heard whistle to notify Alex, that I had gotten myself into a jiffy. In the meantime, I was going to have to knock out at least four of them.

They were surrounding me, and I dared them to charge at me at once. Today was a full moon. Some of them didn't stand a wolf and it's moon protection.

I could feel my bones begin to quiver and harshly shake under my skin.

"C'mon boys! The moon's out and this wolf is ready to kill" I taunted.

"I call second" Alex's voice surprised me as it agreed in a dark corner.

All the vampires gave their best mocking smirks. The fight began just as the first vampire throws a fist my way.

CANDICE'S POV:

"I really think you should cool down and then we can talk calmly" Oliver proposed.

"I think so too" a small weak voice answered.

I ran over to Darren who was slightly wheezing. It made me worry, questioning whether he really was healed.

"Are you alright, Darren?" I ask, my head pounding crazy as I feel extremely suffocated in a certain feeling.

"You're not okay, honey" he retorts. "Sit with me" he sits up and pats the ground next to him, as he leans on a book shelf.

I obey with a confused expression. I wanted to end it all, not take a break and have a conversation. "What are you doing?" I ask.

"You need to calm down" he agrees with Oliver.

I look between the two. "I agree" Damien says even though he's high up on the wall and isn't afraid of what I might do next.

"I disagree. I say I should kill you both" I point at Oliver and Damien.

"If that's what would make you the most happy, I won't object" Oliver says genuinely.

I give him a hard look.

"Candice" Darren calls for my attention. "You really need to take a break. Let's just go home and forget about everything. It isn't worth having your pretty hands covered in poisoned blood" he explains.

"No! Damien tried to kill you!! Your own brother! Oliver wanted you out of the picture. He wanted me to marry him! He made our marriage invalid!" I argued.

Did the starvation of having no blood in your system make you hallucinate the worst scenarios of your life and pretend everything was fine and normal? It certainly seemed Darren was on something and thought everything bad was okay. Since when was he so passive?

Suddenly Darren's hands are on my shoulders, "He's my brother, Candice. Evil or not. I don't blame him. On the other hand, Oliver is just a foolish man. I don't blame him for doing the stupidest things for the illusion he thinks is love. He'll see the light at the end of the tunnel when you are no longer with him. I just want to go back home. With you and to Adam" Darren had the saddest eyes as he said this. I could tell he was the man with the kindest heart, beating or not, it didn't matter.

I didn't know how to respond to that.

Somehow, Darren's wishes had impacted me so hard that my invisible force on Damien and Oliver vanished. They crashed onto the floor as my intense anger slowly disappeared.
