That night I had a dream, a really magical dream. I was a peasant that mistakenly got an invitation to the prince's royal ball while I was checking the mail one day. I looked at the letter carefully making sure it was the real deal, and once I confirmed it my heart was racing so fast.
"Should I go? Or should I just stay here all alone with nothing better to do than clean the house? Ha, Joshua, you must be crazy to even be thinking about this. Of course, your decision was made once you got the invitation in your mail." I said to myself running back into my house with the biggest smile on my face.
Even if it was a great idea to the ball when I know this invite isn't meant for me is a bad thing but, who doesn't want a little spice in their life. I also can't pass up this once in a lifetime chance to meet the dazzling prince everyone in this neighborhood keeps talking about.
I looked through my closet and throw it all on my bed to find the best outfit that is worthy of being worn at such a prestige party. After a long hour, I throw myself on my rocky bed as I wanted to just lay down and cry, I was still a peasant so I didn't own anything high quality. I laughed at myself thinking how much of an idiot I am for thinking that I can go to this party.
I needed to look the part to make it more believable that I belong there. I raised my head and looked inside my closet one last time and I was confused by what I saw. A magic suit appeared right in front of me, and I don't remember buying this and much less think I could have afforded it in the first place.
I shrugged it off and got ready anyways. I put on my shoes and ran out of my house in a hurry since I was so late. I made my way to the ball and was greeted by the guards who at first looked me over with a stern look. I smiled at them trying my best not to check them out too much and showed them my invitation. They saw it and opened the gate bowing down to me.
I was so flustered by this behavior, but as I was walking passed them I heard one of the guards ask, "Isn't this the princes mating party, where he finds his next wife?" He asked and I froze for a second.
"Yeah it is but who knows, we have no authority to judge who the king, queen, and prince chooses to come here." The other one whispered back.
I relaxed a little as I made my way away from the front gates and towards the ginormous castle. Once I made it to the front door of the castle, surprisingly I insistently saw the prince and my heart quickly belated. He was drop-dead gorgeous, but this drop-dead gorgeous prince didn't seem happy. He nodded and bowed at all the girls who greeted him a the door. They were all in flashy clothing and by what I am seeing he didn't seem impressed in the slightest. He had no spread of interest in any of them.
I was getting nervous by that if he wasn't wowed by anyone so far what was the chances of me spiking his interest. Almost zero right? I took a deep breath and made my way.
I walked past him bowing down and smiling up at him. And the weirdest thing happened, he looked amused at me smirking down at me. My face blushed as he took my hand and kissed it. We ran away from the castle suddenly. I didn't know what was happening, everything was happening too fast.
I watched him as he pulled me into a garden filled with roses. It was dark only one light right behind the prince, but because it was behind it cased a shadow on his face not letting me see it. "Um, Prince are you ok?" I asked him when he just stood there silently.
He was a person of few words as he grabbed my hand and whispered into my ears "Now that you are here I'm fine." and kissed me as the moonlight gleamed all around us. It seemed like a fairy tale and I didn't want it to end, but this feels weird somehow I just can't put my finger on it. His voice sounded very familiar with someone I knew.
I woke up to a weight on me. I slowly opened my eyes in exhaustion and looked down to get a face full of silky smooth hair. I moved the hair and saw Jeonghan wrapping his arms around my torso. My heart quickened as I panicked as I also saw my arms wrapped and pulling him in by the shoulders.
"Ah Jeonghan wake up." I whispered to no success as he just buried his face deeper into my chest. My face turned a dark crimson now as I continued to shack him off. "Jeonghan, Prince Jeonghan wake up I don't think we should be in this position right now."
"Stop bothering me---" He moaned and tangled our legs together. I sighed and relaxed into his strangle giving up, letting it be. But when I heard his voice, it sounded awfully similar to the one in the dream.
I let that go thinking it was a coincidence, I couldn't be Jeonghan. I closed my eyes but right as my eyes were closing the door barged open. I got starled as I looked at the tall silhouette by the door. It quickly made its way towards the curtains and pulled them open abruptly expossing us to the harsh lights. At the same time though, it revealed who the silhouette was.
The kings advisor, Suengchoel. "King please come in normally." He said towards the door where the king was crowling on the floor army style.
"Shh we can't wake them up." He whispered to Seungchoel.
"Oh well I already did that one." As Seungchoel pointed at me.
"Hello your highness," I said nervously looking down at Jeonghan trying to shack him off.
