"Come on, can't you guys give me like a month off? I asked, parrying a strike with Riptide. "You know, you could go take a nice trip, see the sights, enjoy the food."

The monster didn't respond, unless you count growling as a response.

I sighed. "I tried to give you a chance to back down."

Riptide sliced through the gemini's body, turning it to dust. I watched the dust, making sure it absorbed into the earth and didn't start reforming. I know we closed the doors, but I'm not taking chances. Once I was sure the monster was gone for the time being, I capped Riptide and slipped it into my pocket.

Walking out of the alley, I continued exploring Happy Harbor. I found the school, the police station, the fire department, and a bunch of shops. I also found the docks, but considering those need water there weren't a lot of places for them to be.

Eventually, after a couple hours of walking and, thankfully, no more monster attacks, I decided to head back to the Cave.

The computer called out my designation as I entered. I walked into the living room and laughed when I saw the Team passed out. Wally was sprawled on the floor, a open bag of chips beside him. I don't really know how to describe Robin, but he was laying half on the arm of the couch half on the back. It didn't look comfortable. Artemis and Megan laid on the couch itself, leaving Connor and Kaldur to sleep below them. Connor was curled into a fetal position while Kaldur laid straight as a board.

I covered my mouth as I laughed. This is hilarious. Before I could wake them up, I walked into my room and grabbed my pillows and blankets. Looking at the measly pile, I nodded. This should be enough. I carried them out to the living room.

I worked quickly, slipping pillows under the boys' heads and folded blankets under the girls'. I did my best to rearrange them.

None of them stirred, causing a smile to spread across my face. I mumbled a quick prayer before walking to the kitchen. It didn't take long for me to grab a marker. I drew on most of their faces and then on mine. I put the marker in Wally's hand, as he was the only one without anything on his face.

I put my last blanket down and laid down. This is going to be fun.

I managed to fall asleep before the others woke up. And believe me, it was obvious to tell when someone woke up.

"Wally!"

I shot up to see Artemis standing over Wally and kicking him. She had a compact in her hand.

"I'm up! What do you want?!"

"Really? What do I want?! How about not getting drawn on in my sleep?"

By this time, everyone had woken up and was currently staring at Wally.

"What is going on?" Kaldur yawned.

"Look around." Artemis said.

"Okay, I didn't do this! I wouldn't do this, especially to Megalicious."

I rolled my eyes. "By the looks of it, you're the only one with a marker."

"And the only one without marker on their face." Connir crossed his arms.

"Easy way to figure this out." Robin started typing into his computer and everyone gathered around as he pulled up the security footage. It showed up until they came in, before suddenly cutting out and not picking back up.

"Well, that was helpful." I sighed. "I'm gonna go see if I can scrub this off. If it's permanent marker I'm going to get in so much trouble."

"Why?"

"I was thinking about swinging by my mom's and asking her to make cookies. Everytime I come home with marker on me, I get an earful.

"This happens to you a lot?" Artemis asked.

"Yep. At the summer camp, we get assigned our cabin based on traits. Like my one friend is counselor for the super-aggressive cabin. My cousin is the counselor for the cabin for girls who like hunting. My other cousin is counselor for the dark, emo, talk to the dead cabin."

"Which cabin are you in?" Megan asked.

"I'm counselor for one of the smaller cabins. I'm usually the only one in there but there's sometimes another kid. Which is nice because I don't have to deal with a bunch of people, but it makes me an easy target for pranks. The cabin full of thieves and pranksters loves to break in. On the bright side, I'm really good at setting traps."

I walked to the bathroom and grabbed a wash rag. I ran it under the water and muttered a quick 'thank you' to Hermes. I scrubbed my face, managing to get most of the marker off.

I didn't know they actually had cameras in here. I'm going to have to be careful with my powers and where I talk to my dad. I mean I don't think they'd have any cameras in the bedrooms, but then Connor might hear me. It might be easier if I just go to my dad's palace and do my reports and check-ins.

A sigh left my lips and I stared in the mirror. My life is not going to get any easier, no matter what I do. I'm trapped.

I tried to get away from the gods, I tried to live a normal life. Dad came and pulled me back in.

I'm just going to have to make the best of it. I'm going to have to get used to my new role. I don't want to be the hero anymore, but I think I can manage to observe. That's all I need to do.

Observe and nothing else. Just observe and stay out of everything else. The moment I start being a hero again, I won't be able to have a break.  Don't be a hero.

I clenched my eyes shut and pulled at my hair.

"But why do I need to be a hero?!"

I'm laying on my bed being like...

I want more muffins.

I'm gonna eat more muffins

See yah
