"Percy? Are you okay?" Megan asked for the eight time.
I didn't move from my bed, and I continued to stare at the ceiling.
My door opened and I looked over as Megan and Robin walked into the room.
"You seriously don't look like you're feeling the aster." Robin said.
"What time is it?" I asked.
"Six."
I groaned and sat up. "I should probably get up then. Get something to eat. Maybe go swimming."
"Well, Wally kinda ate the rest of dinner. We tried to save you some but it is Wally we're talking about here."
"I can make her some more food." Megan flew away, leaving me with Robin.
"So...why are you here?" Robin stared at me.
"Told you. I'm observing."
"I mean the real reason." He crossed his arms.
I stood and sighed. "I don't know. Why are we here? Are we supposed to make the world a better place? Are we supposed to help others? Are we supposed to defend others or just our friends? Or maybe, are we supposed to destroy everything? Are we just weapons in some larger war? Pawns in a game of chess?"
My hands clenched into fists as I spoke. I know why I exist.
As a weapon for the gods. I'm supposed to defend Olympus and destroy everything which opposes it.
"You know that's not what I meant."
I chuckled. "Do I? I don't trust people's words at face value. Now if you'll excuse me, I want to go eat."
I walked out and sat on a barstool. "I could have made this myself, you didn't have to do this."
Megan put a plate in front of me. "But I wanted to. I like cooking and I never really got a chance to on Mars."
I smiled. "Well, thanks. But seriously if I'm going to be living here I want to pull my weight."
"I'll put you on the list for cooking then." A paper floated towards her along with a pencil.
"Switch her and Connor." Artemis said from the couch.
"You don't like my cooking?"
"No offense dude, but it's usually charcoal." Wally grinned. There was a gust of wind and I grabbed Wally's wrist before he could take my plate.
His eyes were wide, along with everyone else as I calmly ate my food with my free hand.
"This is really good Megan."
"I...Thank you, but how did you catch Wally?" Her eyes were trained on me.
I shrugged and released him. "I have pretty good reflexes. And friends who constantly steal stuff from me. I'm used to grabbing people before I can see them."
I was standing in Camp and all of a sudden I had Nico by the wrist. Turns out he was running from Will and not being blackmailed into stealing from me.
I still gave him to Will.
Wally rubbed his wrist and walked back to the couch. He said to Artemis, who punched him.
I smiled. "This reminds me of my friends. Except one of my friends will punch you without you saying anything to her."
"She sounds mean."
"I mean she's my summer camp's resident bully."
Megan's eyebrows drew together. "Why doesn't anyone report her?"
"They do."
"Then why hasn't she been banned?"
A small chuckle left my lips. "She's the counselor for a cabin and the niece of the guy who runs the camp. Which I would feel bad for her cabin mates if they weren't just as bad as her."
"And you're friends with her?" Robin's posture stiffened.
"We didn't start out that way. She hated me when we were younger. Now? She's one of the few people I'd want watching my back."
"I take it you are often a target?" Kaldur asked.
"I used to be. Now, they're too scared of me to try anything." My smile widened. "I can be pretty intimidating when I want."
"You? You started crying when Canary punched you." Artemis said.
"And I also cried when I saw my mom after coming home from summer camp, your point is?"
I should probably call Mom and talk to her. Maybe ask her to send me some cookies.
"How can you be intimidating if you can't even finish a fight?"
"Believe me I finish plenty of fights." I slid off of the stool. "And for the record it wasn't getting punched that made me run off, it was from what happened the last time I got a bloody nose."
"What happened?"
"Nothing you need to know about. I'm going to go for a walk."
They didn't try to stop me as I walked away from them and towards the backdoor.
It opened without me having to say anything and I walked into the cool evening air. I took a deep breath, feeling more energized just from that.
"I really want to know what I'm supposed to be doing." I mumbled, walking parallel to the waves.
That wasn't why I came outside though. I needed away from them and their questions. I need time to think about the question that's been on my mind all day.
I've been hit with more force than that and come away with less. So how was a superhero, a mortal, able to give me a bloody nose with one punch?
I'll just chalk it up to not being fully healed from the battle yet. After all I don't know how my healing powers work, not really. I know the water speeds up the healing process, with salt water doing the most. But that's about it.
I turned and stared out over the water. It was calm, and that same calm washed over me.
I sighed. He better know what he's doing.
