Chapter 3 Crystallization

It was almost a hundred years ago, the commander said in his stern voice. A meteor crashed to Earth, the U.S. military quarantined it and once they realized it wasnt dangerous, spent decades studying it.

Fast forward to a few years ago when I buy a book about aliens, Jiro said. Eliot, the book,

Eliot left and came right back with a book, it was brown and tattered.

This looks older than the grandmothers bible, Carmen said.

This is the prism book, Jiro said.

I thought it was just a book but I love aliens, so I bought anyway, then a friend of mine in the government mention this meteor and it matched the story from the book, so I made a deal with the government to learn more about all this, it's where we've gotten most of our alien information from, I buy it at an auction, not knowing its importance until a friend"

"A big-mouthed friend," The Commander said.

"A friend of mine let it slip the government had a meteor filled with crystal eggs, just like the book told, me and the government need each other so we've been working together for the last year."

Well, what does the book say? Carmen asked.

It tells of a man known as the Rainbow King bonded with multiple aliens, became the Rainbow King, giving him the power of all of them, he used the hero to be a hero, but like most in history, he started to abuse his power, when he realized that he split his power among seven, this book contains all the knowledge they acquired, Jiro said.

Can it tell us how to bond with the aliens? Pedro asked.

It says if youre meant to bond you wont need to be told.

So we have to figure it out ourselves, Pedro sighed. He looked his alien in its three eyes."I have no idea if you can understand me but I need help your help now please...

Red electricity rose around his body. Once it covered his body, it solidified. Leaving him in ruby armor, with a faceplate resembling his aliens face.

When Carmen saw this she went to the table with the prism book. Can I pick it up?

Sure, Jiro said.

Carmen flipped through the book until she found a drawing of orange armor. She bent down and held the picture in front of Orange.Can you copy this?

Orange wind rose up her body. It hardened leaving her in opal armor, and her faceplate was shaped like Oranges head.

The armor felt like a second skin, it was an inch thick but looked sleek.

That was easy, every soldier and scientist here tried to bond with them but it didnt work, you did it in an instant, Jiro said. Dr. Boston, you chose right.

Looks like I did, She smiled.

How do we turn back to normal? Pedro asked.

The book said its hard to transform into their crystal forms and turn back, so they used words to center themselves, crystallize and de-crystallize, Jiro said.

De-crystallize, They both said, and the armor evaporated. Cool, They said.

So, what now? Pedro asked.

What now, go home and rest, well call you when something happens, Jiro said.

Mr. Yamachi, something wrong, A worker said.

In a park, Gem was running after Sonics, who had suddenly jumped out of her bag.

People were recording the peculiar dog as it ran.

Sonics kept running until it met a young guy on a bench strumming his guitar.

When Gem finally caught up she was out of breath. Sonics why did you run like that? She said between breaths. Im sorry about him(Gem thinks its a boy, not 100% percent sure), She told guitar guy.

No problem, cool dog.

Thanks, She smiled nervously. Come on, Sonics.

He sat there as the guy played his guitar.

I think hes a music fan, The guitarist said.

Gem thought about how Sonics would get close to her speaker when she played music, so she went into her bookbag and pulled her headphones. She put them on Sonics and he yipped.

She smiled, she turned to the guitarist. Thank you for your help.

She picked up Sonics and walked on. When she exited the park a black van pulled up.

The vans door opened and Carmen and Pedro stepped out in crystal armor.

She was confused, she didnt know they were others who could armor up(thats what she called it). Also, she had a sinking feeling they were probably gonna arrest her, then she looked at Sonics, and capture Sonics. Without hesitation, she armored up.

We just want to talk, Pedro said.

Gem stood there looking at Pedro, Carmen, and the soldiers in the van, wondering whether she should talk or attack.
