Hunter's Point of View
"You're not going to hurt Derek again, are you?" I asked the man.
"No" he said.
The woman then returned from the hallway. She had something silver in her hand and a jar with some sort of powder.
She gave the knife to the man, and held open the jar of powder.
Without warning, he jammed the knife into Derek's chest. I screamed.
The man took my hand and put it into the jar. I could feel it under my fingernails.
He smiled again. "No, Hunter. I'm not going to hurt Derek. But you are."
He put my hand into Derek's wound. I knew what the powder was now. Wolfsbane.
The man and woman walked down the hallway. Leaving Derek and I alone.
I pulled the knife out of his chest and he bent over, coughing.
"Come on, Derek" I said, pulling him up from the chair. "We have to go!"
I took his hand and dragged him through the dark hallway and out into the woods.
We ran in the direction of the house. I hoped we would make it there.
My hopes were shattered when Derek staggered and fell to the ground.
He was laying on his stomach when I reached him. I used all the strength I had to roll him onto his back. That's when I noticed his eyes were closed. I was never going to be able to get him to the house like this.
I looked around, frantically. Hoping that someone would be out here to help me get him to the house.
"Derek" I said, trying to wake him up. I shook his shoulder. He didn't move.
"Help!" I bellowed through the forest. I didn't know what else to do. "Help!"
Then I stopped. The hunters could be out here too. If they heard me they would come running, and kill Derek, and me.
I kneeled beside him and shook his shoulder again, whispering his name.
I looked up just in time to see a man running towards us. He scooped Derek up into his arms.
"Go, run!" He commanded.
I took off running towards the house again. I didn't even have enough time to wonder if I knew the man.
He followed close behind me with Derek in his arms.
When we reached the edge of the property the man stopped and lowered Derek onto the ground gently.
That's when I noticed who he was. He was a hunter. An Argent. Chris Argent. He helped saved Derek. I wondered why he did it.
He looked at me. "I did that for you, not him." He looked back down at Derek and took off back into the forest.
Derek was lying on the bed in the guest room of the house.
I could tell he was getting worse by the minute.
There was no one else home except for the two of us.
Laura was with her boyfriend for the night. Mama went with Cora to pick up daddy from the airport.
I was sitting next to Derek on the bed.
"Derek, your not going to die, are you?" I asked.
He coughed. "I don't know, Hunter."
I held his hand. "Please don't die, Derek. I don't want you to die. Who's going to play with me if you die?"
He chuckled a little. "You have a whole family to play with. Mom and Dad, Laura, Peter, Cora, Emily, Caleb. You don't even need me."
He coughed again.
"Derek" I said.
"Yeah?"
I was afraid to ask him, I didn't want to hurt his feelings. "Do you think you'll see Paige again?"
He sighed. "I hope so. I'd love to see her again."
I hugged him, gently. "I love you, Derek."
"I love you, too" he replied.
*Present Day*
The man who made me poison Derek is Toshiro Mori, and he is Shane's father."
