They look up to see a figure on top of a sword at a tree. So Naruto was right about someone following them.

“Well, well. If it isn't Zabuza Momochi. Rouge ninja from the village hidden in the mist,” Kakashi sensei says as he stares at the man. Ayame frowns staring at the man wondering how he knew him.

Naruto starts to run towards Zabuza but Kakashi sensei stops him.

“You're in the way. Get back,” Kakashi sensei says. “But why?”

“He's not like those other ninja. He's in a whole other league. If he's our opponent, I'll need this.”

He lifts his headband, starting to reveal his left eye. Ayame stares up at Kakashi wondering what he was hiding underneath the headband.

“This could be treacherous.”

“Kakashi of the Sharingan eye. Did I get that right?” Zabuza asks and Ayame stares at the now red eye. Sharingan?

“It's too bad, huh? But you'll have to hand over the old man.” Zabuza turns around and looks at us.

“Now quick! Manji formation! Protect the bridge builder and stay out of this fight,” Kakashi tells them.

“Huh?”

“I taught you teamwork. Now it's time to use it.”

“Well, looks like I get to see the sharingan in action. This is an honor,” Zabuza says turning his body to face them. Ayame was interested to know who this man was and what the sharingan was. She didn't know such an eye even existed. She knew of the Byakugan, but she didn't know of this eye. It seems to also be a Visual Prowess.

“Everyone keeps saying sharingan, sharingan. Will someone please tell me what a sharingan is?” Naruto asks.

“Sharingan, a rare power, that resides in the eye. The user of thus visual jutsu or dojutsu, can instantly see and comprehend any genjutsu, taijutsu, and ninjutsu. And reflect the attack back on the attacker. The sharingan is a special, rare from dojutsu. However, there's a lot more to the sharingan than that, a lot more,” Sasuke tells them as his gaze is fixated on the ground.

“You got it right boy, but you only scratched the surface. The sharingan can analyze an appointments technique and then copy it to the smallest detail. . .as for you jonin, in the assassination unit of the hidden mist. We have a standing order to destroy you on sight. Your profile is in our bingo book. We called you ‘the copy cat ninja’,” Zabuza says and Ayame's eyes widen.

“You and your redheaded girlfriend always worked together. The perfect duo,” Zabuza comments.

Zabuza stretches his neck. “Enough talking. I need to exterminate the old man. Now!”

He looks at Kakashi with a sly smile. “So. I'll have to eliminate you first Kakashi. So be it.”

He takes his sword from the tree in an instant. “He's over there!” Naruto warns.

“Standing on water.” Sakura adds.

“Ninja art. Hidden mist jutsu,”Zabuza disappears.

“He vanished.”

Kakashi-sensei walks in front of them.

“Sensei,” Sakura asks worriedly.

“He'll come after me first.” He tells them.
