“𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓. 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐒 𝐍𝐎𝐖.” Kakashi-sensei states. They had decided to do some further special training to help them fight Zabuza.

“Right.” Naruto responds.

“First, we will begin with a review on chakra, the ninja basic source of chakra of power. Understanding chakra is essential,” Kakashi-sensei reminds them.

“We know that.”

“He's right, a long time ago we learned about. . . Uh—Cattra,” Naruto tells Kakashi.

“Chakra,” Kakashi-sensei corrects him. He looks at the two girls, and he nods, “Go ahead girls.”

“All right, Naruto. We'll explain it simply so you can understand. Chakra is the element of life energy a ninja uses in jutsu. It's the source of our power. Now this energy has two forms. Physical energy which exits in the cell of the entire body, all working together, and spiritual energy. The primary source of power which is intensified through training and experience,” Sakura explains to Naruto.

The blonde who looks at Sakura still a bit confused. “As you see, these two types of chakra must be drawn out and used together in order to perform jutsu. Notice the interplay between physical and spiritual power. That's the key. Finally, hand signs focus and unleash the chakra,” Ayame adds.

“Right, Iruka-sensei did really have some excellent students,” Kakashi-sensei says looking at the two sisters.

“Ha!”

“Ugh. What's the deal with all these complicated explanations? The whole point is to learn the jutsu isn't it?” Naruto asks looking at the three.

“Naruto is right for once, we're already using chakra energy in our jutsu,” Sasuke agrees glancing at Naruto.

“No! You have not mastered this power. You've barely scratched the surface of it,” Kakashi tells the two boys.

“What do you mean?!” Naruto yells back at Kakashi.

“Calm down and listen, it's just like Sakura and Ayame said. You have to draw physical and spiritual energies and then combine them within yourself. But, how do you do that? Each jutsu requires different types of chakra in different proportions. You must select and combine them in exactly the right way. Up to now, you've just guessed the proportions, hoping they'd come right out right,” Kakashi-sensei explains to them.

“Even if they produce a lot of chakra, unless you can balance and control it, it's all worthless. The jutsu won't work at all, or it'll just be a joke. You waste so much energy that way. Then you're out of chakra, and you can fight at all. You're out of chakra, and you can't fight at all. You're just a target.”

“Uh, so how do we change that?” Naruto laughs softly.

“Train so hard that controlling your chakra becomes second nature. To achieve this goal, you must be ready to put your life on the line,” Kakashi-sensei answers him. All their eyes are focused on their sensei.

“What, do we have to do?” Sakura asks him.

Kakashi-sensei points up to the tree.
“Climb a tree.”
