I froze, ready for him to run away. He wasn't supposed to find out like this. "What? How did you..." his words died as he continued to try to speak. I was surprised the king wasn't backing away from me. "Kyston, I can explain," I assured him. But I had no idea how to even begin. I've never told this to anyone. Of course, my parents knew because they helped me find myself, learn about my abilities, and how to control them.
"Then do that!" He snapped at me. I sighed at his outburst, I guess I deserved that. "How much did you see?" I asked and he looked at the bodies behind me. "Everything," he answered like I already thought. A sigh left my lips as I flopped down on the ground.
"Have you ever heard of a hybrid?" I asked him. He looked nervous as he looked through his memories. "They are creatures with two sides, two abilities, two forms. They are two creatures put into one but they don't exist," he shook his head in denial. "Well, they exist because I'm living proof of it," I expressed. Kyston didn't seem surprised, he probably already figured it out. "You can either be half-witch or half-vampire. I'm half witch and half werewolf. But you have to understand that I was born into this, I didn't drink a potion or sold my soul to the devil. Every second generation in my father's family is born with it. Meaning my grandmother was a hybrid and now I am," I explained slowly in the best way I could of. "Purple eyes mean you are a hybrid but I hide that part of me away. I don't use my powers much and no one else knows besides my family."
"The day when I met your parents, you were so convinced that no one could have heard us," he remembered and I was surprised he even remembered that. "Yes, I placed a spell around us so no one could eavesdrop," I answered the obvious. "I had nobody to teach me because when I was born, my grandmother died and only left me her book with these simple spells. I only know a few things only. Silver hurts me but wolfsbane doesn't," I willingly
"You were mad at me for fucking a slut when you kept this for so long!" He shouts and I cast a silence spell around the cave. "I never told you because sometimes I forget myself. I'm different and I can be hunted. My family could be in danger. I didn't know you then enough to tell you. I knew I was going to have to tell you but I didn't think it would be so soon," I defended myself even though he was right. "Danger? I am your fucking mate Avira!" He shouts at me in his alpha voice. "So you mean to tell me when our daughter's child has purple eyes you weren't going to say anything?" My eyes lit up after hearing that word. I couldn't believe it. "You want a daughter?" I ask in disbelief. Most alphas want a son to have the throne next.
Kyston eyes widened and he looked away from me for a second. "That isn't the point. Avira, I would always stand by your side and this was simply self-defense even though you went a little overboard. I'm always here for you I just wish you had told me sooner but I understand why you didn't," he placed his hand on my cheek as his thumb brushed the skin. "Thank you," I whispered before pushing his hand away and wrapping my arms around him as I hugged him.
