The day ended late, I sat on the couch in silk pajamas. My robe wrapped around me to keep me warm as I slowly began to fall asleep
" The dishes are done.. I'll be going now Ms. White"
I looked over towards Jay. He waved as he closed the door and I waved back, stretching out on the couch my body dissolving into the soft fabric as I curled my toes smiling softly. The door slammed open and my body tensed
I looked over towards the door. Seeing a familiar male walking straight towards the bathroom, soon after another male followed. That familiar head of kinks, he looked around before spotting me.
I quickly closed my eyes, pretending to sleep. Hopefully he'd leave me alone" Hey! Elli, what's with all the girly shit?"
That voice sent shivers down my spine. That rough and careless tone could be found in only one person I knew, my living nightmare
" Mark... I uh, I'm actually settling down.. I'd like it if you didn't touch her stuff"
" Seriously? You settling down? This girl better be stunning. You don't like to share shit"
" Not with you, no.."
I laid there, my heart pounding in my chest. My brown hair falling onto my face, I stared at the coffee table. Hidden picture frames now catching my gaze, family photos were placed neatly and I panicked the more I noticed
" Mark... No, no, no, no..."
I sat up, quickly rushing past Elli. Hiding my face
" Li-
I slammed the door. Quickly walking down the hall towards the elevator, staring down at the floor as I walked
" Liz!?"
I looked back. Elli stood there, I stopped in my tracks Looking at him, my heart ached the more I stared at him. He rushed down the hall, the sound of his dress shoes clashing with the tiled floor echoed the halls
When he got up to me he gave me a strange look glancing back at his flat before looking back at me. I stood there holding my robe closed with a tight grip
" What's wrong with you?"
" I-- I gotta go, my uh.. My aunt called me, i-
" You're not waiting for a ride. I'll get you one, c'mon"
He grabbed my arm ready to pull me to the flat but I refused to move. Pulling my arm back, holding it to my chest. My legs began shaking where I stood
" N- No that's okay.."
" Are you sure? You're shaking.. Are you cold?"
" No, uh.. I didn't really have a big meal, I'll eat at my aunt's..."
I turned away and he grabbed my arm again Turning me back towards him, when I faced him he stared at me. His jaw clenched when he looked at me
" Liz, is everything okay?"
" Since when do you care?"
" Wh-
" I-- uh.. Nothing.. sorry, I gotta go"
" When are you going to be back? I have a day planned out for us"
" What do you mean?"
" Im taking time off work tomorrow, I wanna take you out to eat.."
" Oh uh, I'll be back..."
" Any... Specific time?"
" N- No"
