I woke up in Zara's arms with a soft smile on my face. I peeked up at her as she was rested back into the pillows. I let my eyes sink back down as my ears perked up at the sound of a cracking door. Suddenly, the bed sunk in and I shot up straight in the bed as Louisa and Lizzie jumped around on the bed, singing Life is a Highway to the tops of their lungs as Nattie played a pink guitar off to the side.
"What the fuck!" Zara screamed as she shot up, Lizzie falling down next to Zara as her hand gripped around her ankle. Nattie scampered over to Lizzie's side as she pleaded with Zara to let go of her damaged right ankle. Louisa hopped down off the bed with a bright smile, her cheeks perked up as a white envelope flashed in her hand.
"Simon must be getting soft on us, 'cause this challenge is pretty easy this week," She opened the envelope and started reading in a nasty accent while forcing the tip of her nose up... I assume to mock Simon, I never got that honestly, "This is a special treat for one of our teams; songs dedicated to their home country. Let's see what everyone comes up with this week as the theme is,"
Lizzie, with Nattie assisting her by hopping alongside her, stopped next to Louisa as they all threw up jazz hands, shouting, "American Anthems!"
Zara glared over at me, then looked back at her alarm clock with a scowl, "You woke me up at eight in the morning to tell us this, why," Her head slowly turned back toward them as the curls fell over her face. I gently pushed them back and smiled, but jumped back a bit when she tried to bite my hand.
I nodded my head, "Yeah. Mean, shouldn't you guys be knocked from the Halloween party yesterday," I questioned with a raised brow. Nattie giggled to herself as she rested Lizzie's right foot down on the floor. Lizzie hopped back in Nattie's arms with a yelp. Nattie fell back on her butt with a loud plop, leaving Louisa to shake her head at the two of them.
"Dear sweet Rockstar, when you're a real rocker... Time has no essence. And with no meaning to time, sleep is no longer necessary," Louisa's voice recounts in a dreamy tone. I smiled absently, Zara stabbed me in the side with her elbow, and then I frowned at her, remember why we're here St. Claire.
Louisa sighed and sat down on the edge of the bed, next to me, "Look Haribo,"
"Harriet,"
"St. Clarie," Her voice dropped an octave as she asserted, I swallowed and nodded in agreement, "I admit that things got really crazy yesterday and you probably feel some type of way-both of you," Her grey eyes briefly crossed over to Zara then back to me, "But we need the both of you to get off this 'feelings' train you took a one-way country tour on and help us out over the tracks, here and now,"
Zara giggled, "What's so funny Madison?" Louisa groans as she took another peek at Zara. Zara's curls fell back over her face as she stood up from out of the bed, taking a minute to stretch before walking over to the girls who were briefly knocked out on the floor.
"Madison you never answered, what the fuck is so funny?"
"You Thorn," Her Aussie accent peaking as she whipped her body around to face Louisa. Zara crossed her arms against her chest as she continued, "When you say 'we', you really mean you. Last I checked, we were a fuckin' team and you went off on your own, getting shitfaced-again, and running off with some strange people. And yet again, you're here apologizing for your toxic behavior to the one person who still gives an honest shit about you! And you wanna know the funniest part?"
