I'm pacing, I'm pacing, and spin, and lunge and lunge and Wonder Woman. Or was it pace, pace, lunge, spin, lunge, Wonder Woman? Ugh, fuck I forgot. Okay, Harriet, deep breath. Deep breath.
"Rockstar, pay attention!" I shook my head out of my thoughts, looking at Louisa and then Zara. Louisa shook the mic toward me, and I took it from her hand with a soft smile.
"Are you okay?" Zara rested her hand on my shoulder, "You don't seem all here, is there something you need to talk to us about?"
"No, no!" I giggled, "Of course not, just thinking about the judges, judging us, and the judges picking the best groups, and yeah. Just stupid stuff," I forced out while tucking a piece of hair behind my ear. We took a couple of steps back behind a black curtain, as Princes and Rouge came through the sidling doors. Louisa looked back at us, taking a step in front of us like a conductor.
"Okay girls, dress check." She mumbled as One Direction came flying past us. Niall waved hard at Nattie, and she smiled from ear to ear with a wave back. Louisa's eyes glared from navy to sliver and a scowl replaced her flat smile. Nattie tucked her hand away and stepped back next to me. Zara rubbed Nattie's back with a sympathetic smile, her eyes glared at Louisa.
"Hey Thorn," Louis stood behind Louisa with a mic gripped in his hand. Louisa's head dropped to her collarbone, but she spun around with the fakest smile and clapped her hands together like white Valley Girl, "Don't give me that shit grin,"
"Fuck you too Tomlinson," Her high-pitched voice still intact, but Louis shook his head and mouthed, 'Thanks' as he finished his walk outside. Her heels clicked against the wood floor as she met our eyes again. Zara patted Nattie's back and they stood up straight. Lizzie and I stood there quietly, our arms down at our sides with our outfits on full display.
Our song is the Wannabe by the Spice Girls; Louisa went off and had a conversation with our judge-not Simon obviously, but you never know with her. The only thing I remember was watching her and the woman having lunch in green and pink dashikis with straw platforms. I can never understand how girls could wear stuff like that. Ugh. They looked like they were having such a great time, but it was all business. I'm sure...?
"Okay people," She stopped to listen in, and One Direction just started their audition, "Okay. Rockstar, pull up your shorts a bit," So I did. "Better. Now when we go out there, Zara is to the far left and I'm on the far right since we have the strongest vocal patterns. Simon has this thing for Harri, so no matter what anyone does; Harri. Stays. In. The. Middle. Lizzie, remember no Spanish this time but I promise the next song I'll throw some Spanish in there for you okay,"
I swallowed, "Um, Louisa,"
"Harri; head down then Wonder Woman on the last ha, pace to the left for till the end, pace to the right until the end. I wanna is the spin, and when we go to the bridge is when we go in for the lunges. I want you to remember, do not move. We move around you. Okay," Louisa reassured with a smile, her hands rest down on my shoulders. I nodded and breathed to myself. Her hands lifted up and I heard her footsteps stand back in her place.
"Oh Nattie, don't fucking wave at Niall. We're in game mode now,"
"Yes bitch," Lizzie and I gasped, while Zara let out a small giggle. Louisa dropped her head again and mumbled something in French. I took a half step away from Lizzie. Louisa picked her head up and glared back at Nattie, mouthing, "I'm gonna fuck you up later,"
Nattie rolled her eyes and settled them to the back of my head, "Make sure to keep her occupy for me Harri," She whispered. I nodded and shot a smile back at her over my shoulder. The boys came through the screen door; their faces dropped as soon as they saw us and they rushed away. Everyone let out a collective sigh as Louisa snapped her fingers and started outside.
