✿Chapter Twenty-five✿

Mac's pov**

We slide into the SUV and Jack doesn't hesitate to take off.

"I shouldn't have left her." I say with a slight shake of my head.

"Mac you couldn't have known." Riley says trying to comfort me.

I shouldn't have let her be alone when she was vulnerable. I should've known he would attack then. I push my hair out of my face as Jack takes a sharp right turn.

"She'll be okay." Jack says causing a humorless laugh pass my lips.

"Don't say that. You don't know if she will be." I say tearing up, "if I lose her I don't know what I'll do. The years I spent without her we're horrible, I don't want to do that again."

The rest of the ride is silent but I barely notice. Jack pulls up to the entrance and I throw my door open before running in squeezing through the magnetic doors.

"I'm looking for Adeline Kingsley." I say pushing in front of people.

"Dude what the fuck." Some guy, who looked straight like the classic surfer dude, says shoving me.

"Back it up dude." Jack says pulling surfer dude away from me.

"She's in surgery." The girl at the front desk says making my hand slam down.

"Where is she." I state running my hands through me hair.

"Sir." A security guard puts his hand on my shoulder and I shrug it off.

"Mac!" My head snaps up to see Matty exiting the elevator.

"Where is she." I push past surfer dude again and approach Matty.

"Calm down, she has the best trauma surgeon and when she's out of surgery she'll move to the VIP wing." Matty says causing me to nod, "Mac it doesn't look good, but he did miss most vital organs."

"What organs did it hit?" I ask praying it wasnt something she couldn't live without.

"Her uterus. It's a small knick on her Fallopian tube." Matty says causing me to look up.

"Is he dead?" I ask quietly.

The only way she was alive is if she didn't let him live.

"Yes, she took two kill shots." Matty says causing me to nod.

She was one hell of a fighter and i knew she wouldn't give up until he was dead or she was.

"Come on she's gonna be in surgery for a while." Matty says leaning me back to the elevator.

I bend the metal paper clip into a heart trying to calm my nerves. She's been in surgery for two hours and all I wanted to do was storm into the OR and make sure she was still okay.

"Family for Kingsley." I stand up elbowing a sleeping Jack as I do.

"That would be us." I approach the nurse quickly with the rest of the team following suit.

The BAU was flying after finishing up a case to make sure she was okay and they should be here in the next hour.

"Hi, I'm doctor Anderson. I was her surgeon. She's stable but the effects of the sedatives and anesthesia." He says, "she lost a lot of blood and we had to do two transfusions and we might have to do a third. But she's alive and stable and that's what ya'll need to focus on." I nod letting out a sigh of relief.

"Can we see her?" Bozer asks as Riley grabs his hand.

"We usually only let direct family in but considering the circumstances to why she's in the condition that she is in I'll allow it. Only two of you though." He add as causing me and Bozer to step forward.

The doctor nods before leading us through the same doors he walked through. We navigate the halls till the get to a room. He opens the door and motions us in.

Boz walks in first gasping slightly before moving from the door. I enter seeing Addie laying in the bed with bruises scattering her face and what was visible of her arms.

"I'll leave you guys alone." The doctor softly closes the door.

I pull a chair up grabbing Addi's hand. I kiss her hand before dragging my finger over her knuckle.

"She'll be okay." Bozer whispers as I lay my head on the bed.

My eyes slowly flutter close from exhaustion.

My eyes open as I feel a hand on my hair. I look up and see Addi laying in bed softly running her hand through my hair. I grab her hand bringing it to my lips and kissing it softly.

"You were worried." she pushes her hair behind her ear with a slight wince.

"I think I had every right to be worried about you." I state standing up and sitting beside her legs on the bed, "how do you look so gorgeous after a four hour surgery."

She rolls her eyes before trying to sit up.

"Not gonna happen you just had major abdominal surgery." I push her down making her huff before she pulls the blanket over her more.

There's a soft knock at the door causing me to look up.

"How you doing?" Matty asks walking in with Addie's old boss following.

"Good," she says with a small smile on her face, "When can I get out of here?" she asks interlacing our fingers.

"Addie." I say giving her a look.

"Don't look at me like that, you hate hospitals just as much as I do." Addie says causing me to sigh, as much as I don't want to admit it she was right.

"Your gonna be here for a couple weeks. after you get out you'll be on the bench for atleast a month." Matty says causing Addie to groan, "But I know you suck at just sitting and doing nothing so we have multiple terrorist for you to profile."

"I'll go tell the others your up." Matty says leaving just leaving Addie, Hotch, and I in the room.

"How many women have you determined he killed?" Addie asks softly.

"From the moment you we're removed from their care, 10." Hotchner says, "I know you want to blame yourself, but many of his victims were killed before he even thought about finding you. Focus on you right now." He finishes his sentence as a little boy runs into the room.

"Henry." Addie says as the little boy climbs into the bed and gently lays beside her.

"Henry." JJ says entering after the little boy who was clearly named Henry.

"He's fine." Addie says hugging the littly boy that was laying softly beside her.

"Good to see your still alive."" JJ says causing Addie to smile.

"I don't give up to easily." Addie says as Matty walks back into the room with Jack and Riley following her.

"We have a situation that need your immediate attention." Matty says causing me to sigh, I really didn't want leave her.

"I'll be okay, not like I'm going anywhere." Addie says pulling my hand up to her lips and kissing it.

"I love you." I say standing up before kissing her.

I pull away, grabbing me jacket and head towards the door. Jack walks over giving Addie a hug before joining me while Riley does the same.

"Stay safe Macgyver." Adeline shouts just as the door begins to close.
