Beasts

Beasts will come and
flesh will tear
Be it from lion or dragon or bear
The bells will ring
A chorus of screams will sing
to their mothers' teats, babes will cling.
You could say there's a storm coming, but it's more like a stampede
of too many hustling beasts
Of my warning, please do take heed.
Their jaws and claws will rip and tear
Unlike a bear inside his lair
who will only attack when his privacy is breached-
Who am I to lie to you?
All predators are beasts.
Provoked or no, most will attack
This is simply a survival tact
It's just a way to win the game
More man than animal,
We choose the frame that makes us most look like a martyr
And pick up skills to persuasively barter
for attention, ascension, prevention, and suspension
We'd like to be believed in
And be pushed toward enlightenment
I think we need to be reigned in,
And stripped of our entitlement.
I'm sure there's a reason we draw the line 'tween human and animal
But there's not much of a difference to me if we're killing a kind mammal
For survival or for fun it's still fucked up
Of irony we all sip from the biggest cup
As animals, as beasts, we kill one another
Yet say it's not the same when a man kills his brother.
We call those men inhumane and forget that animalism is certainly the bane
of our existence.
There's so much resistance to accept what truly is.
