after convincing johnny it was okay for her to leave, luna and maliboo walked over to charli's house. luna rang the doorbell and waited for someone to answer.
"come in." dixie said opening the door wider. dixie picked up maliboo, "she's in her room."
luna walked up stairs to charli's room. there lie charli, on her bed, crying. listening to johnny's songs. luna let out a long sigh before walking in.
"hey char." luna sat down on the bed next to her.
"please don't call me char." charli said sniffing.
"what's wrong?" luna asked, knowing the answer.
"johnny. he blocked me on all social media and he blocked my number. it was so out of nowhere. i don't understand what i did wrong." charli cried.
"you didn't do anything wrong. boys are dumb. and a waste of time. you don't need johnny." luna smiled.
"i do need johnny. he made me happy, happier than i've been in a long time. he wasn't a waste of time." charli said sitting up.
her eyes were bloodshot red and puffy. she was pale, her nose was pink and her hair was a mess. this was luna's fault, and she knew it.
"i just, i don't know what to do. he said when he came to la he'd come to visit, but, he never came." charli said. her eyes started watering again.
"charli, you shouldn't waste your tears over boys. if it isn't going to matter in five years, why waste five minutes crying over it?" luna asked.
"because it matters now." charli said wiping her tears.
luna sighed, "charli."
"honestly, i just wanna cry by myself. can you please let me do that?" charli asked.
"yeah. of course." luna said softly.
"thanks for being a good friend." charli said with a small smile.
luna stood up, gave charli a smile, and then left.
"did you get a breakthrough?" dixie asked hopeful.
"not really, but i can try again tomorrow." luna said.
"that'd be great." dixie half smiled. luna grabbed maliboo and the duo left the d'amelio house.
luna got back home and everyone turned to look at her.
"how was the walk?" maddie asked.
"cold. really cold." luna laughed. they laughed.
everyone turned their attention back to the tv screen, johnny walked over to her.
"you wouldn't have been cold if you would've worn my sweatshirt like i told you too." he laughed.
"y- your sweatshirt?" her eyes got wide.
"it's been scientifically proven that boys sweatshirts are warmer than girls sweatshirts." johnny smiled.
"it has?" she raised her eyebrows.
"no. that was a lie and an attempt to try and be smooth. i'm sorry." he apologized.
she just laughed, "don't be. it was cute."
"i tried to be smooth with charli, but she just told me to stop." johnny scoffed.
"well, like i've said before, i'm not charli." luna said.
the doorbell rang. "i'll get it." luna said.
she opened the door and saw dixie standing there.
"hey luna you forgot your phone at my house." dixie said handing luna's phone to her.
luna quickly grabbed her phone, but it was to late, dixie sported johnny and luna knew. luna walked outside and closed the door.
"was that?"
"no"
"you don't even know what i was gonna say?"
"no"
"luna?""okay it was. and i'm sorry. but i-." luna started
"charli is in her bedroom bawling her eyes out right now over this boy. he didn't come to see her, because he came to see you instead?" dixie said annoyed.
"dixie, please don't tell charli." luna begged.
"i won't. but just know, she's heartbroken, and it's because of you." dixie said and walked off.
