Can We Save Her?

A couple days later...

Ritchie's POV

It's been a couple of days, and we still haven't found anything that could save Amber. Michael and Brandon were grinding through books to find answers. Colin was hoping to find some answers by listening in as our inside intel. I'm getting really worried now, and Amber's energy signature was going down more. We tried to give Amber more energy, but her crystal stopped us. One day, I went into our office, where Brandon was scrambling around. I said "Brandon, whoah, what happened?" "I'm busy. Just leave me alone! I can't find---hmm, is this it? No! Argh!!!" Brandon said. He was really scrambling to save Amber. I said "Brandon, just stop! Calm down. Please. You need to just rest." He sat down and calmed down. I said, "Are you alright?" "I'm not. Look, I've been looking for days and apparently, I can't find anything related to it. I'm sorry, Ritchie." He said. "There's nothing you need to be sorry for. We just need to keep going. It's for her sake." I said. "I'll keep searching for clues or any cure." He said. I nodded and then I went to go see Amber. I knocked on the door, and Lucas opened the door. He said "Oh, hey Ritchie. You can come in." He let me in, and I said: "How is she?" "Her condition is getting worse, but at least she's safe. Has Brandon found anything?" Lucas said. "Nope. I'm going to Grimshade to ask Michael. I hope he finds something." I said. I went up to Amber and I saw that her crystal was getting darker. It was losing colour and turning black. I said, "I'm going to go visit Grimshade now." "Alright, well, then. I'll keep watch of her. And I'll tell Brandon if there's anything wrong." Lucas said. I went off to get to Grimshade. I walked into the Grimshade guildhall, where I saw the guild members looking through books. I said, "What's happening?" "We're helping Michael find answers for Amber," Bren said. I saw Ash and Lily playing with Colin. I asked "Colin, is there any information you got?" "No, I'm sorry. Eden wasn't telling anyone what he did. Anyways, I hope Michael found something." He said. Colin returned to playing with Ash and Lily. I went to find Michael. I opened the door to Michael's office, where I saw everything inside was messed up. The floor and the tables were covered with books and some random stuff. I saw Michael, running around looking through books and pushing things aside to find things. I said "Michael." He didn't listen to me, so I repeated "Michael." He still didn't notice I was here, so I yelled "MICHAEL!!" He jumped and then said "Oh, Ritchie! I didn't notice you there..." I sighed and said, "Did you find anything?" "Yes and no," Michael answered. "What do you mean, yes and no?" I asked. "Well, you see. I found something, but there are some things that are complicating it. So I'm trying to find some way around it." He said. "What?" I asked. "There's a spell that can save Amber, but there is a part of the spell that is literally about someone sacrificing themselves or giving up magic forever. I don't want that to happen, so I'm trying to find a workaround. And I can't find it." Michael answered. I sighed and said, "Just keep looking for it." He nodded and said "I know we've been looking for days now. Remember, the GMG is in a couple of days. We need to be ready for it." "I know. I'll make sure everyone is ready to fight." I said. He nodded and then went back to work. 

I went back to the guildhall, where Bren was taking a break and playing with Ash and Lily. I smiled and then went back to my guild.  After I came back, I stopped in my tracks. "W-What happened?" I heard explosions coming from inside the town. I ran in and saw that the infirmary was attacked. "You got to be kidding me!" I said.  As I ran, I saw my guild members fighting. I saw that David was protecting someone. I saw that it was Amber. I got closer to David and helped him. I asked, "What happened?" "I was watching over Amber when I heard explosions outside. So I tried to surround the room with ice so that it can protect Amber. But the explosions destroyed it, so I had to take Amber out of there. That guy was fighting me, so I was trying to protect her. Boss, take her out of here now. I don't know how long we can hold them off for. I just want her to be safe. Please. I can't go full force since I could hurt her too. Go." He said. I picked Amber up, and then my demon side showed up. I was running past the other members, and I saw that Mario was going hard. Then he joined me, while I was running, he was defending me and Amber from broken buildings etc. We made it to the docks, and Mario said "We'll have to leave quickly. I'll get a boat ready and you guys just make sure no one's coming." "No. I'll get her out of here. You need to fight for Divinus Magia. Please, Mario." I said. "But-" He started, but then a light glowed from Amber's crystal. A line came out of it, and then it went to Mario. It touched Mario's dragon mark, and then it glowed. After Mario said, "I feel so much stronger, but why did she..." The line disappeared and Amber's crystal got even darker. I said "She knew that she needed to help. Amber, you didn't need to. Mario, I think she wants you to protect the island and the people here." "I know. I'll go. I'll make sure that Brandon knows that you have her. Bye." He said and went off to fight evil. I got in a boat and put Amber down. I touched the boat and Storm Blinked all the way to the Atlanti docks. I carried Amber to a teleport crystal, where I teleported us to Grimshade. After that, I was breathing heavily. I saw Michael, who was still working. He turned around and saw me with Amber in my arms. He called out "GUYS, GET OVER HERE!" Then he went up to me, he took Amber from me. I fell to the ground, and he said: "What happened?" "Divinus Magia is attacked, everyone is fighting there. I had to get her out of here. I'm going back..." I said. "No, you're not. You're injured. I'll get some other people there." He said. The door opened and the members of Grimshade appeared. I was on the ground and Bren helped me up. I said, "Michael, I hope that you found the cure or a solution to it because she needs it now more than ever." "But...it's not ready. There are so many things that could go wrong." Michael said. "I don't care! Just do it!" I said. "We need someone to sacrifice themselves for it to work." He said. "I'll do it!" I said. "You're already injured, you might die!" Michael said. "As long as Amber makes it, that's all that matters to me. Just do it. Please. I'll be fine." I said. 

"Fine," Michael answered. He carried Amber into the middle of the room, and then said "I need you to touch me, for it to work. I'll have to change the wording in it so that you will be the one who loses it and not me." Michael started chanting and then a spell circle appeared. It was purple, and then I felt my magic draining from me. I started feeling very weak, and then the spell was complete. I was the ground. Michael said "Ritchie! Your hair is drained of blue, and your eyes are greyish white. Are you alright?" "No, I guess that I lost all of my powers. I don't think I can do anything." I said. I saw Amber get up and she said: "What happened?!" "You were in a coma state for a very long time. We managed to save you with a spell, but Ritchie.." Michael said. She said "Ritchie!" She sat down beside me, and she said "You didn't need to give up your magic for me. You're going to disappear from existence now that you did that." I felt like I was losing myself, as it was getting harder to hear Amber. She said "No, no, no. Ritchie, don't." She touched my chest and then a light glowed from her hand. After, a bright light enveloped us and then it disappeared. I blinked and she said "I can't believe it! It worked. I restored your magic." I sat up and said "You gave back my magic? How?" "Well, after you saved me. I felt that I had too much power. I found out that your magic was in me, so I just gave it back. I don't need it anymore, as once the spell worked. It gave me tons of energy to live, and I had to save you." She said. I hugged her and said, "I"m so glad, you're okay now. But Divinus Magia is in danger. They're fighting for their lives right now." She nodded and then we went back to Divinus Magia, where the guild was actually winning. Mario was leading the attack, thanks to the power boost. We helped them and then Divinus Magia was saved once again. Amber used her magic to restore all the buildings and the destruction disappeared. Divinus Magia was so happy that she was okay. Amber went back to Grimshade to spend time with Ash and Lily. I was able to relax for once. Brandon had injuries from the fight, but he pulled through and recovered quickly. I just hope before the GMG starts again.
