The blue was an immediate relief from the pressure of my life. I felt the world caving in on my every move but the trip to the aquarium sent me to a place I needed to go most. The rushing sound of the waves coming from one of the tanks calmed my nerves almost immediately and caused my heart to swim happily like a little school of smiling parrotfish. The slight fish smell normally would have been bothersome in a regular setting, since in a regular setting, it would have meant "dinner," but in this case with the mass amounts of live aquatic animals, I found it to be humorous. The sounds of the beluga whales waiting for their dinner was probably my favorite part. They paced in the water, impatiently begging for their food, characterizing something of a water dog.
The different tanks filled me with joy and excitement and things I haven't felt for a long time. The city skyline behind the dolphins' infinity pool, the crazy amphibians, and the random birds helped me forget the shambles I left outside the doors. I searched for the dolphins the whole time, just barely finding them before my time ran out. They were my last stop. I had finally found my dolphins, but I had to say goodbye. With a blown kiss over my shoulder, I left my bliss and walked away, back to the doors where my mess would be waiting. But instead of there being stormy clouds of dispair awaiting my arrival and signaling my return, there was a beautiful sunset greeting me with a warm hug and a soft memento of hope. 'Soon it will get better,' it said.
