Part 16

Brian's POV
We couldn't find a babysitter so we had to take Lola along to our meeting and brought her playmat and some toys to keep her occupied. Jim didn't mind, he even offered to let her have a nap on his desk if she wanted but she wasn't tired, she was very much awake and playing with her toy bumblebee.

She loves bees, can you tell?

"Alright, have a look at this" Jim put a small stack of papers in front of the both of us and it had a logo on the front with 'We Will Rock You' and Freddie's outline. As soon as we saw that, we looked at each other and knew exactly what the other was thinking, 'it is about making money off of Fred'

"Hey, don't dismiss it yet. Read it through, it's nothing about you guys, it's just the music" Jim said and I got my glasses out of my pocket as Brian opened up the first page and started reading it. I caught up with him before he turned the page and it was just a brief overview of what was to come but I already liked it.

Jim was watching us as we read through random parts of the script and my mind was blown more and more as we read through. We got to the last page and Brian flipped it over with a look in his eye that I knew, he was very impressed that he'd been proven wrong.

"What do you think?" I asked and Brian scanned his eyes over the front page again before he answered, "I think it's great. Can we take this home to read fully? I'd, uh, I'd like to read through all of it if that's okay" he flashed a smile at Jim who nodded slightly, "take your time. You can scribble on that one, if you want, I know you guys like everything to be perfect"

"Thanks Jim... I'll send it to you in a few weeks then" Brian put it in his bag then looked at me as I picked Lola and her bumblebee up, holding her in my arms. She was getting bored so I played with her as Jim's phone started ringing, scaring her.

She started crying so I quickly took her out of the office and walked around with her, "shh, shh, it's okay... it was just the telephone. We're away from it now, though" I explained then moved her so she could see her bumblebee. "Look, who's this? Is that mister Bee?" I cooed but she didn't stop.

I knocked on the office door and Brian opened it, "get the bag" I said quickly and he rushed to get it and shoved it into my hands, shutting the door quickly. I knelt down and got her dummy out of the bag, putting it near her mouth until she latched onto it and it quietened her down. "Good girl... there we go, nice and quiet" I cooed and smoothed her hair out of her eyes, "come on then, let's see Daddy and Mister Jim again"

I picked the bag up and opened the door, dashing back to my seat since Jim was on the phone, and put the bag at Brian's feet. I kept Lola in my arms and looked at Brian, "it's the guy, he phoned him and is asking when we can meet him" he mouthed and I nodded, "thanks... nothing major then, right?" I mouthed back and he frowned, "what?"

"No-thing maaaajor" I mouthed, very much over-emphasising my words but he got it in the end, "no, nothing major" he smiled then I noticed Jim looking at us, "all done?" He asked and both of us simply nodded as he turned the phone to loudspeaker.

"Alright, go on Ben" Jim said and I heard the man clear his throat before he started, "hello, uh, I wrote out a script for you, it's only a very basic draft so feel free to change things and put little ideas in, I don't mind. So... yeah, did Jim tell you what it's about?" He asked and I looked at Brian who shook his head.

"Not yet, no" I said and heard a small 'oh' from Ben, "okay. Well, it's basically about a place where there's no music... and this guy, I've not got a name for him yet but he will have one, um, he just goes around and meets all these people who sing your records and he takes that back to his people and it's like... like discovering classic rock and roll again" he explained and I looked at Brian who hadn't reacted.
