2nd April 2000
Brian's POV
"It's happening! Brian! It's fucking happening!" Roger screeched and I almost jumped out of my skin as he came barrelling into the living room, "the baby's on its way" he panted and I got up out of the seat, "alright, alright, don't panic. Let's... go get a carrier and you can find a baby-gro, okay?" I held his shoulders and he nodded, pecking my cheek then rushing off.

I got my wallet from by the front door and waited until he was ready, he'd found every single child and told them what was going on so they didn't freak out. He didn't need to but he was trying his best to keep them all in the loop, even Tigs who had no idea what was going on.

"Ready?" I asked when he finally joined me and he gave me a little nod so the both of us got in the car and I drove us down to the Mothercare shop to quickly get a carrier and some baby clothes. "You go get the clothes, I'll get the carrier, see you at the checkouts, alright?" I said as we both headed in and he gave me a thumbs-up, "got it"

I rushed to the aisle with all the baby carriers and chose one that would fit with our car then headed to the checkouts and waited for what seemed like ten minutes for Roger. I got fed up of waiting and found the clothes aisle to see Roger with an armful of baby clothes and tears streaming down his face, "Rog? What's the matter, love?" I rushed over to him and he just looked at me and started sobbing.

"I can't choose what I want" he wailed and showed me five different baby-gro outfits, "I want all of them but you said one and-" he started sniffling as he looked up at me. "Babe, I'll just get all of them, we can decide at the hospital" I put my hand on his back and led him to the checkouts to get all five outfits and the carrier.

I had to hurry him out to the car and I'm sure I picked up a few fines from speeding all the way to the hospital. We got there and I picked up everything I could grab and ran into the hospital, Roger not far behind me. We went into the women's ward and found a midwife to show us where Debbie was.

We both went in as quietly as possible since one of the doctors was in there with her, "Rog! Brian!" Debbie screamed and both of us literally dropped everything and went over to her. She rolled a little towards me as I took her hand, "Brian, I'm too old for this shit" she whined and Roger stroked her head, "this'll be the last time, we promise. You can do this" he reassured her and she looked like she was about to cry.

The doctor gently patted Debbie's leg and gave her a smile, "I'll get a midwife, you're at ten already" she covered over her legs then left the three of us alone. "I can't do this, I can't, I can't" Debbie kept repeating then groaned and squeezed my hand, "you can, love, you can do this. I promise you" I rubbed her hand and she tightened her grip as the midwife walked in.

"All ready, Deborah?" She asked and Debbie shook her head, "no, no, I can't-I can't do it" she started crying and Roger leaned down to comfort her. She wrapped her arms around him as the midwife pushed the blanket back and helped her to get her legs up, "gentlemen, would you like to hold her legs?" She said so Roger had Debbie lie back down and both of us took a leg and held it gently to try and help her.

She was obviously scared so the midwife was trying to be as encouraging as possible as Debbie eventually started to push, screaming when she stopped. She was panting and screaming and neither me nor Roger quite knew how to react so we were just trying to calm her down and focus her but we weren't very good.

She eventually calmed herself down and really started to push. "There we go, there we go! Come on Deborah" the midwife patted her leg as she pushed again, "we're crowning, well done Deborah! You're doing so well" she encouraged her and both me and Roger were trying to keep her as calm as possible.

A few pushes later and there was the head! I could literally see it and I thought I was going to throw up from nerves, it was my own child but I was so nervous to meet it. "Brian, you alright?" Roger asked and I nodded, feeling a little woozy but I was still standing so I was fine.
