Magnus was almost skipping all the way to work. It had been long since he had been in such a good mood. Not since his injury at least.

Even though Alec technically had thrown him out after sex yesterday, he had still been gentle with him. Shown him this incredible world. He had never had an orgasm as strong as the one he had yesterday. And it just got even better because it was Alec that had given it to him.

Convinced that things had now changed between him and Alec, he strolled into the teachers lounge with a broad smile on his face, heading straight for the table Alec was at.

"Good morning."

His smile quickly faded with the piercing look Alec shot at him. He made it pretty clear that he had no intention of speaking to Magnus. Then he changed his focus to one of the others at the table and started his conversation back up.

Magnus was confused. Hadn't there been a connection between them yesterday? He was sure. He had felt their old bond. Reconnecting. But Why did Alec then still act like Magnus was the worst thing on this planet?

"Alexander? Is something wrong?"

Alec rapidly stood up and left the table, leaving Magnus confused and staring in the direction Alec had disappeared in.

Blood boiling, memories surfacing. Alec marched out of the building heading straight for the parking lot. Away from the curious glares.

As soon as he was alone, he kicked a trashcan, knocking it over.

Why the hell had he been so stupid, and go sleep with Magnus? What an idiotic idea. Now that piece of shit thought everything was alright between them. It was no where near alright. There was no way a little fucking could undo what Magnus had done to him back then.

Sitting on the teacher's desk, Alec was still waiting for Magnus to show up. He was now 45 minutes late. He was getting worried that something had happened to him. Checking his phone for the hundredth time, he decided to go out and look for him. Magnus hadn't answered any texts, and his phone went straight to voicemail. It didn't seem like him.

When he jumped of the table, he heard a sound outside the classroom. His heart started Racing. It was Magnus. He recognized the steps, and sure enough Magnus appeared in the door. Alec started rushing towards him but stopped when he saw Magnus' friends behind him.

"Did you really think I would want anything to do with you?"

Alec didn't understand. It was Magnus. It was his voice, but how could it be his words?

"Do us all a favor and transfer to another school. We don't want any gays here!"

One of Magnus' friends had stepped closer and spat in Alec's face, before Backing out, shutting the door and locking it. Alec could hear laughter from the other side of the now locked door. Even Magnus laughed.

"I told you he would fall for it."

Magnus' voice travelled through the door and Alecs legs gave out. He dropped to the floor, still clenching the letter. With tears streaming down his face, he lay down on the floor, rolled into a ball.

"Alec. Are you alright?"

The ground in front of Alec was covered with trash and Magnus could tell from the tension in Alec's back that he was pissed. His fists were clenched along his sides.

"Am I alright? No! of course I'm not alright! And I won't be as long as you keep showing up everywhere! Just leave me the fuck alone!"

"Alec, I'm sorry. I thought that yesterday meant you had forgiven me."

"Forgiven you? You really think it would be that easy? YOU BROKE ME!"

Alec tried to calm himself. He hadn't meant to be yelling. Not with the kids so close by.

"Alexander... I'm really sorry. What can I do? Please. I'll do anything."

Slowly Alec looked up, locking eyes with Magnus. But What Magnus saw in Alec's eyes almost made him break down himself. It was raw and utter hurt. Magnus then knew Alec had been completely honest. He wasn't just trying to wound him with his words. Magnus had indeed broken him.

"I'm so sorry. I will never stop making it up to you, I promise. And if you need me to stay away for a while, then I will. But I really want to earn your forgiveness. Someday."

Magnus started backing away from Alec. Letting the words sink in.

"But for now, I'll keep my distance. I promise."

With no more words. Nothing left to say, Magnus walked back inside the school. He would keep his distance from now on. He had to find some other way to make things up to Alec. Small gestures, without getting to close. Not before Alec was ready.

The next day when Alec arrived at work, a Styrofoam cup with steaming hot coffee was placed at his usual table. The name Alexander written across it. Looking around the room he saw Magnus at the furthest corner, sipping his own matching cup.

Alec ignored the cup at his table, grabbed some of the bad coffee by the machine and sat down at another table.

The next day, another cup was at his table. This time he threw it into the trash, glaring at Magnus. Trying to impale him with his glare, but Magnus only smiled sligthly at him.

Each day over the next couple of weeks, the same thing happened. A cup at the table, and Alec throwing it out. Until one day another teacher confronted him.

"I don't know what's going on between the two of you, but it really breaks my heart..."

Alec glared at her, ready to give her a piece of his mind about people not minding their own business, when she continued.

"to see such good coffee go to waste. You should at least drink it. Get something out of it."

She winked at him, and grabbed herself a cup of the regular coffee.

Why the hell not. If he wants to waste his money...

Alec grabbed the cup, and sipped it while leaving the lounge. Never looking at Magnus that grinned from ear to ear. Very pleased that Alec finally took the coffee.

Before Alec had gotten out of hearing range someone asked Magnus about the coffee. Alec stopped, waited to hear the answer. He couldn't help but being a little curious.

"Is it because you like him?"

The voice asked Magnus.

"No! not at all... it's just. Um... I owe him. From highschool. I don't like him like that. I'm not gay!"

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to pry."

Alec rolled his eyes at Magnus. Just as he expected. Magnus was still afraid of what other people thought. Even when the person asking wasn't judging. Properly just wanting to help.

Magnus Bane hadn't changed one bit according to Alec.
