"Andrew, are you home?"

Closing the door behind him, Alec dropped the keys onto the dresser. His entire body was aching from being tensed up all day.

Damn that Magnus Bane! Why did he have to come back?

"Andrew! Babe, where are you? I'm having a shitty day and could really use a backrub!"

As the door to their bedroom slid closed, Alec turned towards it. Confusion and a bad feeling settling in his stomach.

"Andrew?"

Slowly he pushed the door open and looked in. Andrew was packing a suitcase.

"What are you doing?"

Andrew shot a glance over his shoulder, his eyes raking over Alec before looking back down at the suitcase.

"What does it look like I'm doing?"

Grabbing another shirt, he tossed it into the suitcase. Not wasting time folding it.

"It looks like you are packing, but what I don't understand is why?"

Andrew stood up straight, sighing deeply before turning around to face Alec.

"Really Alec? You don't know why?"

"No, I don't? What's going on?"

Reaching in, grabbing the first piece of clothes he could find, Andrew yanked it out of the closet and tossed it at Alec. Then another and another, puncturing his words when he screamed at him.

"YOU. DON'T. KNOW. WHY? SERIOUSLY?"

Alec stepped back holding his hands up in front of him, trying to avoid the fabric that was tossed at him.

"You don't kiss me anymore. We haven't fucked for MONTHS! We barely speak to each other! And you don't know what is wrong! I swear, for a genius, you are such an idiot sometimes!"

"I'm sorry. I didn't know it was a problem. You've never said anything."

Alec could tell as soon as the words had left his lips, that it was the wrong move. The way Andrew eyes shined with anger, made Alec slowly back out of the room.

"I never said anything? NEVER SAID ANYTHING? How about the time I asked you to tell me why you didn't want to touch me anymore? Or when I offered myself up to you on a fucking silver plate, and you just said no?! I can't live like this Alec! I deserve a hell of a lot better than a man that does not, and will not acknowledge my presence! I'm leaving you! Good luck finding someone else!"

Andrew stomped past Alec with a half-closed suitcase and slammed the front door hard enough to make the windows rattle.

Alec dropped down on the couch, completely stunned.

What the hell just happened? It hasn't been that long since we've kissed or had sex. I thought we were doing alright. I know I've been a bit preoccupied at work, but it hasn't been months... has it?

Thinking back Alec realized that it actually had been months and that he had brushed off Andrew every time he had been trying to be intimate. The work had just been extremely stressful lately.

Alec rubbed the brink of his nose with his thumb and index finger.

I need a drink!

-----

The bar was just as he liked them. Almost empty. He really didn't feel like socializing right now. He was still processing what the fuck just had happened. Alec wondered why his body hadn't reacted to the lack of sexual stimulation yet? If it indeed had been months, shouldn't he be craving sex? Especially when Andrew had offered. Which he remembered now, that he had done now.

Alec ordered a shot, while taking a stool at the bar. It was faster getting served that way. Thinking back, he went over the last couple of months in his head, trying to sort out what it was that had distracted him so much from his boyfriend. Sure, he had had a lot of papers to grade, but not more than usual. And there hadn't been any pressing situations with the kids in his class. He couldn't find any reason why he had ignored his boyfriend. None other than the fact that he just didn't feel like screwing him. Or kissing him.

When the shot arrived Alec instantly threw it down and gestured for another. When the barman filled the glass, he threw that one down just as fast.

"Jeez. You've really learned how to drink, huh?"

For the love of....

"Magnus... I didn't see you there..."

Alec gestured to the barman once more. Really needing the liquor now Bane was taking the seat next to him.

"I remember in high school, when you made that screwed up face every time you took a sip."

"Stop it Magnus. I'm not taking a stroll down memory lane with you, so just stop."

The defeated look on Magnus face, was completely ignored by Alec. He had enough on his plate right now to deal with him. Especially him! Alec felt the memory of the worst day in high school creeping up at him.

He looked at the letter in his hand. A smile tugged at the corners of his lips, and when he read the words again, he could fell himself grinning from ear to ear. Alec had never been so in love before. Not ever.

He clasped the letter to his chest, closing his eyes while feeling the flutter in his stomach.

Looking around in the empty classroom he noticed a table where someone had scored in their names and framed them in a heart. Maybe he and Magnus would do the same tonight. Maybe that was why he had asked him to meet him here this late?

Looking at the time, Alec noticed that it was thirty minutes since Magnus was supposed to be here. Where was he?

He could feel himself growing anxious. Magnus wouldn't stand him up? Not after last night. That perfect night.

Alec shook it of, clearing his head once more. No way in hell he wanted to remember how naive and stupid he had been. Not today. Not any day.

"Leave the bottle."

Alec grabbed the bottle and poured himself another shot as soon as the barman placed it on the counter.

"Rough day?"

Magnus turned his body towards Alec. He could still read his emotions as clear as day. And Alec was really in a shitty mood. Magnus hoped it wasn't all his doing.

"Yeah..."

Alec threw back the shot, before turning to look at Magnus.

"You have no fucking idea."
