Chapter 6 - We are not friends

Hurrying through the airport, Alec kept reprimanding Magnus. Going out of his way to make sure Magnus knew that this wasn't a social gathering. That it didn't make them friends. That he hadn't forgiven him.

"Are you listening to me Magnus? I need to know that you won't think that this is something it isn't. Not like you did last time."

"When you seduced me into letting you fuck me, you mean?"

Magnus huffed out the words. A bit annoyed with Alecs scolding. He had already agreed to the teams once. No reason to keep repeating it.
Without warning Alec stopped abruptly. Utter shock and disbelief covering his face.

"Did you just say that?"

Alec couldn't keep the smile of his face. Magnus had just pointed out loudly at a public place that they had fucked! He hadn't thought Magnus had it in him.

"Crap... What did I just do...?"

The smile left Alec's lips when he saw Magnus realizing what he had just done. Humiliation shinning through his eyes as he rapidly scanned the room. Checking if anyone heard him. Alec shook his head.

"Magnus, I really don't have time to deal with your shame spiral right now, so either pull yourself together, or go the fuck home! Both suits me fine!"

Alec marched towards the gates, still shaking his head. Just as he thought Magnus might have grown some balls... Alec scolded himself mentally for not just dropping the hope of Magnus coming to terms with what he was. Who he was.

When he found his seat on the plane, he sat down closing his eyes and tried to make himself comfortable.

"Do you want to sit at the aisle or the window?"

Opening one eye, he saw Magnus standing next to the seat.

"The aisle."

Alec closed his eye again. Trying to find his center once more.

Magnus moved past him, making his way into the window seat, almost smashing his ass straight into Alec's face.

"Watch where you wave that thing."

Alec slapped Magnus ass, before he even realized what he was doing. When Magnus turned into a deep shade of red, Alec began to chuckle.

"Take it easy Magnus, no one saw... oh..."

When Alec looked down at Magnus, that was now sitting in his seat, he could see that Magnus' dick had grown hard. Alec could barely hold back his laugh. It had just been a light slap. Nothing more.

"Stop laughing at me!"

Magnus hissed at Alec, only making him laugh harder. Until the plane started the engines. Then Alec's laugh faded, and he grabbed the armrest, clinging onto it.

"That's what you get for being sassy."

Magnus teased Alec, but then he saw how truly terrified Alec was.

"You are afraid of flying..."

Alec glared at Magnus for stating the obvious. It wasn't like he needed someone to tell him that.

When the plane started making its way out of the runway, Magnus took Alec's hand. Squeezing it. Holding his breath, Alec grabbed Magnus hand so hard his knuckles turned white.

As soon as the plane was safely in the air, Alec could breathe again. Suddenly he was very aware of the way Magnus thumb caressed the back of his hand. He could feel his skin tingle under the touch. Just as it used to before Magnus broke his heart.

A light knocking on the window caused Alec to get out of bed. Outside, Magnus sat on the roof of their porch. Alec opened the window.

"What are you doing here? How did you even get up there?"

Magnus climbed through, closing it behind him.

"I climbed your tree. It wasn't that hard."

He walked towards Alec's bed and sat down, gesturing for Alec to sit down next to him.

"And I came because there was something I forgot to do today."

"With our project? What did we forget?"

Alec sat down next to Magnus, feeling a strange sensation for being this close to him. At night. In his bedroom. Alone.

"WE didn't forget anything. I forgot something. Or actually I chickened out."

Slowly Magnus rose his hand, brushing Alec's uncontrollable hair away from his face, before leaning in and kissing him.

Alec could feel his lips tingling from the touch of Magnus' lips. When Magnus pulled back, Alec didn't dare opening his eyes. He was afraid it was a dream.

Before he knew it, Magnus kissed him again.

Breaking the kiss once more, Magnus kept his forhead pressed against Alec's. His lips not far from Alec's either.

"I think I'm in love with you... actually I think I love you."

Alec didn't know what to do. He had never thought anyone would say those words to him. Especially not someone he had loved from the first time he saw him. Even though Magnus had bullied him all the way through highschool.

"I... I love you too, Magnus"

The words echoed in his head... He could feel the tears threatening to fall in the corner of his eyes.

Rapidly he yanked his hand out of Magnus grasp.

"Remember what we agreed on, Bane! This doesn't mean we are friends!"

Turning away from the stunned Magnus, he discreetly wiped away the tears that were starting to run down his cheeks.
