Just Say The Name Pt. 4

You were currently shirtless on the bed as Mary tended to your wounds. Pedro, Darla, and Eugene decied to go grab some pizza while the rest of you returned to the house. When you had entered you were sure that Rosa or Victor would have been worried or lecturing the kids but you didn't realize that they had already knew their children's secrets.

Victor: Oh. You're a hero to. That explains it. Did the Justice League send you? I know Billy has been neglecting his responsibilities and I'll be sure to have a stern talking with him.

You just waved it off as Mary took the first aid kit from Rosa. Now the two of you sat in silence. Freddy had stayed downstairs with Billy and Cortney to talk to her about Witch Boy and why the team was looking for him. You hissed in pain for what seemed like the hundredth time.

Mary: Sorry.

You shook your head.

Y/N: Shouldn't you be the one getting patched up? You got the worse out of all of us.

Mary: The magic helps. Because I was in my Marvel form, I had a kind of protection. You didn't.

Y/N: Yeah. The magic kinds messed with my stuff a bit. Still though, you sure you're alright?

She just nodded and continued to clean your cuts. You felt a bit nostalgic in this situation. You closed your eyes and found yourself back to a time that seemed so far away. You were sitting in your room in the Manor back in 2049.

Melanie: I swear. Everytime you come back it just gets worse.

You laughed a bit but sucked in your breath when she put the cotton ball on your open wound.

Y/N: Yeah well, he had a really big knife.

Melanie: Don't joke about this.

You peeked over your shoulder and found your smile fading when you saw her concerned face. She was ready to cry but was keeping it in. You turned your body to face her and placed a hand on her cheek making her look at you.

Y/N: I'm fine. Really. I've dealt with worse remember?

Melanie: It doesn't make it easier! I worry about you everytime you put on that damn suit.

Y/N: I was the same way with you remember?

Melanie let out a sad laugh at the memory. Back when she was Ten and working with her family. You knew about her and what she was doing. You also knew that she couldn't leave. It wasn't until a year after the two of you started dating that you were able to get her out of that life. Bruce had helped her get a straight job at Wayne Tech. Everytime she would leave or cancel their dates when her parents called, you worried.

Y/N: I won't die. Trust me. I'm too damn stubborn to.

Melanie: I know. Just be more careful. I would like to be with you a while.

You smiled and planted a soft kiss on her cheek. You laid on the bed and she curled up next to you with her head on your chest.

Melanie: Hey, Y/N.

Y/N: Yeah?

Melanie: I love you.

You smiled.

Y/N: I love you to.

You opened your eyes and was back in the present. Mary finished wrapping your shoulder and allowed you to get off the bed. You pulled on a plain white shirt.

Y/N: Thank you Mary. I appreciate it greatly.

Mary: No problem. Actually since I have you can I ask you something?

You shrugged giving her the ok.

Mary: Billy and Cortney, do they end up getting married?

You smiled to yourself.

Y/N: Yeah. They have the cutest kids to.

You sat on the couch eating the slice of pizza you retrieved from the box and watched everyone interact. Freddy and Darla were teasing Billy and Cortney who were having a good laugh. Mary was helping Pedro with some left over math homework while Eugene was trying to beat a hard boss on some game.

It was kind of comforting watching them interact. You knew them as the guardians of the magical realms but right now, in this time, they were just kids. They were a very close knit family. You watched Billy and Cortney interact before catching Mary's own stare. The two of you smiled at the secret information. You felt your phone vibrate and checked it to see it was actually Cassandra texting you.

Cass- Hello

So formal.

Y/N- Hey, what's up?

Cass- Just checking in. Is everything ok?

Y/N- Yeah. We found the problem. I'll be home tomorrow.

Cass- Good. I can't wait to see you again.

You smiled before feeling a nudge and saw everyone looking at you.

Freddy: So who is that? Your girlfriend?

Everyone made a mocking Ooh noise to which you just rolled your eyes. You stuck your tongue out at them and playfully shoved Freddy away. As all of you shared a laugh, you thought about what the voice said.

???: Why do you lie to yourself? Why do you not trust others?

???: Maybe you just need to see what true family means.

???: You'll meet me when the time is right.

Maybe it was time to embrace family. Time to embrace your family. You pulled out your phone and sent Cassandra a text before putting it back in your pocket.

Y/N- I'm coming home.
