"Come on sweetheart, what's the holdup?"
You make an aggravated sigh as you were serving a group of obnoxious guys. "Here you go." You placed the dumplings on the table.
"Thanks, hot stuff." You rolled your eyes and grumble as you make your way towards the kitchen. "Why didn't I take a day off today?" You sigh and rub your temples. "I just have an hour left of my shift, I can get through it." You told yourself.
You make your way out of the kitchen and towards the counter when the bell above the door chimed. You looked up and your day instantly turned around. Toshi arrived, and he sat in his usual spot. You walked towards him and smiled. "Hey stranger." He looked up and smiles. "Hey, I didn't know you was working today." He says.
"Well, here I am. It's so good to see you." You say. "Same, sorry I haven't been around lately. I hope you can forgive me." He says. You give him a smile.
"I'll forgive you, want some tea?" You offered. "That would be wonderful." You give a nod and went to grab some tea.
"Hey, where's our cake, cutie?" One boy called out from the group. "Hold on a sec, I'll have someone bring it out." You scoff at the group of boys who were getting on your nerves.
You walked over towards Toshi and poured his tea. "What's going on over there?" The blonde asked while looking over towards the rowdy group of boys. "Oh, them. Just some guys that came in here... being a pain in my ass." You say the last part a little lower.
"They're not giving you any trouble are they?" Toshi asked.
"Nah, I'll kick them out in a minute." You say.
"Hey sweet cheeks, how come you had someone else serve us cake?" Another boy from the group asked. "Because I'm not the only one who works here." You say slightly annoyed.
"Speaking of, you're pretty hot and I've had my eye on you. Can I get your number?" The main boy asked. You scrunched up your nose in disgust.
"Sorry, I'm not interested in first graders." As you were leaving, he grabbed your hand. "Come on baby, don't act like that." You shoved his head off yours. "Get your hand off me."
"Come on, don't act like that baby." He said.
"I think the young woman asked you to leave here alone." You saw Toshi standing next to you.
"Stay out of it, old man." Says the guy.
"I'm afraid I can't do that, you see this is a friend of mine and I don't appreciate you treating her this way, so I'm just going to ask you kindly to let her go, let her finish her shift in peace, and leave her alone." Toshi says.
"And what if I don't, what are you gonna do?"
A second later, the guy got punched in the face and he fell to the ground. His friends were in shock and so were you. You had no idea that he packed a punch that hard.
Toshi then picks the guy up by the collar. "And a word of advice young man; don't call a girl hot, she's not a cup of tea."
The other boys grab their friend who was still dizzy from the punch. "We're sorry for mistreating you ma'am." He pays for the bill and they all hurry out the door.
"I hope I didn't cause too much of a scene." Toshi says while rubbing his fist.
"Not at all. Thank you." You say.
"What time to you get off?" Toshi asked.
"In like 20 minutes." You say looking at your watch.
"Alright, I'll be over here finishing my tea." Toshi says while walking back towards his seat.
"I'm back from my lunch break, anything interesting happened?" Airi asked. You quickly grabbed her arms and hurried into the kitchen.
"Your boyfriend is back." Airi giggled.
"What should I say?" You asked.
"Well, um... just be casual." Airi says.
"I've never been this nervous before, anything else?" You asked.
"Just calm down."
You looked at your watch. "My shift is over anyway, I'll see you later Airi."
"Stay safe." She tells you.
"Did you walk here?" You asked Toshi. "I took the train." He tells you. "We can take my car." You say while unlocking it.
"I hope you don't mind if we stop at my place, I want to change out of my clothes."
"No, it's no trouble at all." The blonde said.
After changing, you two ditched the car and go for a walk. The weather was nice and there was a peaceful atmosphere.
"So, where've you been?" You asked.
"I've been around." He said. "Mostly busy." He adds on.
"I understand. I've been pretty busy too. Especially with work." You say.
"I just wanna say, that was awesome what you did back at the teahouse."
"It was nothing, honestly. I didn't like how they were treating you." He says.
"Thank you, it was sweet."
Toshi blushes at the comment as you both were walking the route back to your house. "It's so good to see you again, even if it's only been a week." You say.
"It's great to see you too (y/n)." He says as you both reach your front porch.
"Would you like to come in?" You offered.
"I would love too but...I have to teach tomorrow." He says.
"Okay, can I at least have a hug?" You asked.
"Of course." You both shared a hug. He was so warm and just hugging him made you feel so safe.
A few seconds passed, and you slowly pulled away from the hug. And you both stood there, staring at each other for what seem like forever.
You slowly leaned in, closing your eyes and puckered your lips. A few seconds passed, and you opened your eyes and saw that Toshi was gone.
You felt your cheeks turned red from embarrassment. "Maybe I was going too fast."
Around the Corner
All might was running down the street with labored breath. He stopped at a street light and caught his breath.
"Shit. Shit! She was gonna kiss me, and I ran!" The blonde looks around while still catching his breath.
"Has it really been that long since I've been with a girl?"
