"...nothing will ever change my mind. You are just wasting your time." Ortezca said as she removes the coat and scarf and give it back to him. She then went back inside the house.
"My lady! Have you thought about it? Are you going back to the capital?" Melody hopefully asked her as ortezca walks towards her room.
"I am tired, do not disturb me." Ortezca said and then shuts the door. Melody was about to knock the door of her lady's room when Rudevich came in too.
"Duke! How was it? Did she agree?" Melody came to ask the duke instead, now that she could not solicit answers from ortezca. Rudevich looked at her and sighed. "I might stay here for a little bit more, melody," then flopped down on the couch, looking tired. Melody stood there worried at the situation.
"Duke Suvvell, if there is anything that I could do to help you convince the lady-" Melody almost begged Duke Suvvell but Glen pitched in.
"I will go talk some sense to her," Glen said as he went inside Ortezca's room. Rudevich raised an eyebrow, questioning Melody. "He had become more of a father for her than the duke Holminne himself..." Melody stated. Now that Glen decided to plunge in the mess, she prayed that everything will go well.
Glen closed the door gently once he went inside her room. He grabbed a nearby chair and sat beside her, who was cocooned with the blanket on the bed. Both were silent for a while and Glen sighed. He might have volunteer in this but he really does not know what to say either. You did a good job? That was the right choice? Do what your heart tells you? Do not be too stubborn and come with Duke Suvvell in the kingdom?; Initially Glen wanted her to stay and do everything in his power to cure her but judging by the current season and capability of the resources and the circumstances that they currently had, he eventually made a conclusion that it was better for her to be cured in the kingdom. Now, all he have to do is to know which buttons to push for her to say yes.
"I have nothing against your decision of not going to the capital...after all you are the one who is deciding here, not us," Glen began threading the situation. One wrong word and he'll be damned.
"...how about this? Think of this as a part of business- you have a lot of things you want to make happen for this village, right? Why not sell some of the products from here to the kingdom during your stay?" Glen asked. It would not hurt to give a suggestion-right? Glen was patting Ortezca on her back to comfort her for she seem to be crying because of her trembling shoulders.
Little did he know it was not the case.
"....Grandpa Glen....you...you are actually right! I can negotiate with the duke in terms of economy!thank you Grandpa Glen!" Ortezca said and ran out of her room.
"No problem, kiddo," Glen chuckled.
