"What?" Rudevich frowned. He felt an ominous feeling regarding about this.

"And uh... he requests also for lady ortezca to be there as well." The attendant fidgeted as he speaks. Ortezca just stared at him. Rudevich could not tell what it was, but he was sure that there was something wrong with this situation-furthermore with ortezca's.

"We will be there immediately." Rudevich said.

The carriage had safely reached the castle. There, rudevich escorted the still dazed ortezca towards the king's hall. Once they reached inside, he and ortezca knelt down before frederich faaseil. Jeremy and robert were there as well. Jeremy eyed ortezca, but he did not even speak a word. Same goes with robert.

"Raise your head, rudevich, jeremy and robert. I applaud your undying support that shown to this kingdom. I also applaud the holminne house for finding the cure to this disease. I am also here to announce a great news- this kingdom will be expecting a heir to the throne! With this, i am resigning from my throne and giving it to my son, the soon to be father of lady dickens child and of this empire!" The king said and the people applauded the crown prince and the pregnant lady dickens. Vannessa was red from embarrassment but the crown prince kissed her. Whistles from noble faction were heard.

"As for you- ortezca holminne, the person who had been banished from this kingdom- why are you here? I had heard some rumors from people- saying that you are a harbinger of the disease? Do you really hate the prince and lady vannessa that much?" The king scoffed at ortezca, who was still kneeling. People from various kingdoms came over and were watching the situation first hand. Some pitied the girl, others scorned her for it. Other nobles of the kingdom blamed her.

As for ortezca, it did not matter. All she wanted was to go home. She wants to go back. To melody, to dialton, to everyone-

"Oh right, i heard that there was this village by the cliff that had been attacked by bandits huh? No one survived, apparently." The king said, making ortezca raised her head, wide eyed.

"...it was a flourishing village, too bad it was ransacked by bandits... i pray for the dead to rest in peace." The king mumbled. Ortezca was so shocked that she no longer knelt on her one knee, she was basically crouching on the floor.

No.

No.

Please.

Is this because my greediness?

If so, then... i don't have the right to become happy..huh...

Rudevich was shocked too upon hearing the news and turned to ortezca. He felt sorry for her and was about to console her when he saw her expression that ran chills to his spine.

an emotion not akin to despair nor had lost hope Nor depression.

An emotion not even compared to sadness nor agony nor grief.

An emotion which is not hatred nor an act of vengeance nor indifference.

It was abandonment.

It was self-condemnation.

it was suicide.

"You will be stoned to death tomorrow morning. For now, everyone, please enjoy this banquet. Guards, take her away." The king said and before they approach her, she stood up, and bowed gratefully at the king.

"Thank you." ortezca said and turned around. She saw robert, he averted his eyes from her. She took a long stare at him and her father too. Good thing that feus wasn't here. She stared at them to take a look at them one last time. She then glanced at rudevich.

She moved her lips. Rudevich tensed.

-I WILL NEVER EVER FORGIVE YOU-
