jaemin saw jeno lying limp and unconscious on the ground, a large gash going across the side of his forehead to the side of his head. the younger called his name out several times, getting no response, terrifying him even further than he already was. blood was just rushing and rushing out, and jaemin felt so frantic and scared he couldn't move.
"what did you do..?" jaemin's voice was silent, appearing as if he was a madman, talking to himself as he brought the unconscious boy into his arms. "what did you do!?" he abruptly boomed, tears streaming down his face, looking at his mother who was watching the scene unfold with wide and red eyes.
"all i wanted to do was talk to you!" hwayoung shrieked hysterically, fingers running quickly and frequently through her tangled hair. "you're sick.." jaemin cried, unable to say anything else due to his breaths getting heavier. he looked down at jeno again, screaming and sobbing. not even words. just pure, pained screaming and sobbing. the boy placed his hand on jeno's cheek, noticing how much he was shaking. he couldn't hear anything else over the numbing ringing in his ears, not even his own yelling. and because of this, jaemin failed to realize shuhua in the room and already on the phone with police and paramedics.
he had completely forgotten they made plans with her to have a small night out with the babies.
shuhua had noticed the front door was open when she was walking over to her bestfriend's house, and rushed to his room the moment she heard his screaming. the girl ran in seeing jaemin holding jeno, who was bleeding and unconscious, and his mother biting her nails with maniacal and crazed eyes. she had met jaemin's mother before, on a random day when she decided to show up at the home. the woman whipped her head towards shuhua's direction when she came into the room, and ended up just taking off.
but wherever she went wasn't jaemin's focus in the moment. nothing was his focus but the boy in his arms. jaemin couldn't stop crying, no matter how hard he tried to when shuhua was done speaking on the phone and help was coming. when shuhua was frantically asking him what happened. when shuhua was telling him to breathe. within the next few moments paramedics had arrived and took jeno out of jaemin's arms, making him cry out even more. now it was shuhua holding onto jaemin, tears and tears pouring down from his puffy eyes as he watched jeno be put on a stretcher and wheeled out of the room.
