As I cross the road I look over my shoulder to ensure no one has followed me. Some Platinums and Golds had some suspicions, but none raised enquires... yet. Well, until this morning.
I near the barrier, my satnav says I'm 1 mile away. I'm hoping to Rhodium that I can make this trip fast, before the fight comes to our town.
I'm starting to grow tired. All I remember of the morning is me sprinting out of my 2 bed flat I'd been taking sanctuary in until the heat died down. It did not. My door was broken down at 3am and I was out the window and down the drainpipe 5 ticks later.
Lucky I lived on the 3rd floor. Lucky.
I was skittish now because the Platinums were onto me. The scrape of the stone beneath my feet, a can that rolled my way, every robo-cattus digging through the bins, I jumped at every noise.
Eventually, after several frantic looks this way and that, I crossed the road and started the long ascent up the stone steps to the entrance gate of the barrier, where the other rebels are waiting. Others, like me, who haven't succumbed to the brainwash.
