The fall was not too long but the landing was abrupt, if you didn't know HOW to land. Launi did a perfect knee-bent landing, I however fell flat on my face. Lucky it was a spongey ground. Strange. As I peeled myself off the dirt I looked up to see a giant cave that we have dug into and in the centre... there it was. In all its glory. The Controller. We edged slowly towards it, careful to avoid the falling shards of rock from the ceiling, and noticed The Controller had a strange shape in its core, almost... like an animal. I looked at Launi and she looked at me, indicating she'd seen it too.
'Halt!' Anthony shouted, his voice echoing off the walls. As we watched him he produced a long, metal chisel from his satchel and a large stone. Rhodium knows how he carried that without the bag braking. He marched to The Controller and placed the chisel against its side, lifted the stone behind his shoulder, and struck. Suddenly there was a flash of bright blue light and The Controller had split in two. We all sprang back and waited for the light to dim. As it did I noticed the strange animal-like shape spring out from the centre of The Controller. It was pale blue and glowing, like a firefly only bigger. I straightened up and turned to Anthony, who seemed to be clutching to my Source in his hand, like he was reluctant to let it go, like he didn't know what to do next. I did. I walked up to him and asked, 'may I?' Without replying he placed my Source in my outstretched hand. It felt warm and lit up the minute in touched my metal. My fingers closed around it and I turned to the strange creature. As I edged closer I started to make out a tail, long ears and face, and fur. It was a fox. The minute I reached it it's tail immediately flew up and it gazed at me through sea blue eyes, as if telling me, 'You know what to do.' I stretched my arm out and opened my hand to reveal my Source, all the while being watched by the fox. It drew closer to me and I was filled with a hope, a different kind of hope, that this would all be over soon, like this was the thing to rid the world of it's psychotic thoughts of war. As it reached my hand it did the most peculiar thing, it took my Source in its jaws, swallowed it and gave me one final look as if to say, 'thank you'. With that the creature turned, ran towards the cracked open Controller and settled back into its curling position. Immediately the Controller snapped shut, and the cave started to crumble.
'OUT! OUT! EVERYONE!' Came Anthony's frantic yell. I felt a hand pulling me away and realised it was Launi. I woke from my trance and bolted to the entrance.
