The moon was full and shining like diamond. We were strolling through the garden of the base, well... I say garden but it was more of a field of rubble. I couldn't escape the question, try as I might, it was like a ear worm you couldn't shake. So I blurted out 'so what now?' Launi clearly wasn't ready for that question because the next thing she said was, 'the future.' I wasn't sure what to make of that.
'Is that secret code or did the rock give me amnesia?' She laughed at that one.
'No one can predict the future, Kyle. We just have to wait and see. And watch the news. It's all happening there.' I smiled.
'Hey, I'm sure the world has woken up. We did solve the equation of peace.'
'We FINISHED the equation, it's up to fate to solve it.'
'Fate does good things, especially if you ask it to', she said with a small smile. I grinned back, once again unsure. Wait... was she flirting with me? My mind suddenly started racing. I had no clue what to do. All my social skilled had bolted. So I answered, 'I know! Crazy right?'... I didn't just say that right? Goodbye dignity, it was nice knowing you. After a span of what felt like years, I glanced over at her and saw she was gazing at me intently.
'What?' I asked, confused.
'Well... ya did it.' She said with a smile.
'No WE did it' I replied sternly.
'Ok. WE did.' And before I knew it she leaned over and I felt her lips on mine. Now, a kiss was only something you hear about in fairy tales. But this... this was real life. And it was happening. To me. Now.
She pulled away, grinning.
'WE did.'- Hi! Fin here, thank you so much for reading! I know it is very short but I literally wrote this in my spare time on holiday 😂. Anyway thank you for reading and hopefully they'll be more soon! ❤️
