The Bridge

Within 15 minutes I reached the bridge, sore and breathless, and headed forward to the gate. It was big enough for a few shacks to sit below and tall enough for a giant to walk through. Which they do, before it was sealed permanently when the war began. It leads to The Good Lands, or Land of Scum as it's famously known among us robots, where the mythical beasts, giants and elves live harmoniously (well, as harmoniously as they can be due to the circumstances), ruled by Pixies. I'd like nothing better than to get just a glimpse of what's behind those obsidian doors, and hopefully I will. Strange, I always thought The Great Gates leading to The Good Lands would be behind great castles, guarded by a viscous 3 headed dog, not 4 run down shacks and a watch tower. I was brought back to reality by the sound of heavy, clanging footfalls made by a dark figure, making its way towards me.
As it emerged from the shadows I noticed it was a female (lighter colour metal) and was an Iron too. My cogs instantly relaxed when I saw her badge, a rebel.  I'd never seen another rebel since father died, it was... comforting somehow, a reminder I wasn't alone in this never ending fight for equality. I was not alone. It was also the first time I've seen a female, unless you count the odd time on the streets, as my mum died when I was born and I went to an all-boys school, females usually stayed inside, doing housework, or were off fighting in the war.
'Are you Kyle Potes?', the surprisingly deep voice emanated from beneath the black hood.
'Y-yes', I replied, caught off guard by the fact a fellow rebel was standing in front of me.
'Follow me', she said in that oh-so-deep voice. It was... almost seductive...
